Good idea, but it's poorly run. Staff are actually awful! Some of our party arrived at 2:30 for our 3pm start. They gave my name (booking) and they sat down waiting for rest of party. I was with the bride and groom, we were the last to arrive at 3:10pm. It started at 3, so we were a bit late admittedly. They said to sign a waiver, and wait for someone to collect us. We said fine. 3:25 I went back to reception because no one had collected us. Then the staff were honestly just really rude, saying 'well you're 30 minutes late now, so we don't know if you can go into axe throwing' I explained that actually we'd been waiting for them. Then they suddenly started to say OK we'll check the cameras because we don't believe we'd tell you that we'd come to you. Anyway, this went on for a while. They had also said that we could now go in but it'll be reduced time. So I was like ok fine, can we just go in now rather than you argue with us? And they just kept arguing, and wasting more time. They were just so defensive.
We had our axe throwing for 20 minutes or so. Then we went for beer/Prosecco pong. 30 minute long game, we didn't have our drinks until 20 minutes into the game. I went numerous times and they were rude to me because of what had happened earlier. The guy started to accuse me that it's my fault as I hadn't pre booked which alcohol I wanted. I said that there are 23 of us so we're having a selection which was pre arranged with staff. He started to kick off again until a staff member came over to say that I was right. He gave me stinking looks and rolled his eyes. The food was nice! Then the free token drinks that we had in the oackage deal came an hour after peer pong ended. It was just all very poorly managed. I think the staff are all burnt out and just hate their jobs. Or power hungry, who knows. There was no customer service, or politeness. They just got pretty angry straight away. And treated us like crap. Absolutely not worth the money. Sort...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great find! Been in the Brewery Quarter before but about 5 years ago and never noticed it before. Was looking for fun things to do on my birthday weekend along with my sister and nieces when they visit from Northern Ireland.
I wanted to do two or three activities but thought it would all be a bit of a rush getting from one to the other with no break, so I asked could I book each with a 30 minutes break between and they says yes no problem. So we played Shuffleboard for an hour first. We love this game and have played it before in Norway when visiting my son who lives there. The only negative thing I would say is that the tables were a bit too close to each other. We had quite a few shocks when the occupants of the next table pushed their puck really hard!
Then we had a break and sat outside in the lovely weather. The seat benches at the tables are not very sturdy. I was so worried it was going to break! We ended up moving to the wooden steps. Just a pity there weren't very many cushions to make it comfy for our bums.
Next we played American Pool for an hour. This was really fun. Was surprised there was no board for us to keep a tally of games.
Another break, during which time we had some chicken goujons and fries for a nibble - lovely! Then in for Electric Darts, which we just loved, even though we are all crap at darts. This hour went so fast that next time I would book it for 2 hours.
The service was great for the most part, and there was a particular lady manning reception who was extra helpful and friendly. I wish I had gotten her name to mention here, but she did have false eyelashes and was picking at an eye and a bit of the falsy came off and we both laughed about it.
Toilets were a bit of a let down. Plastic bag over one of the toilet seats (?), and one of the toilet doors wouldn't close. Hand dryer didn't work. Cleaner was rude when we asked for toilet paper.
But all in all a great day. Thank you so much! We will be back!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has the potential to be incredible, it just seems to lack the leadership to fulfill that.
So my small group went to play crazy golf and pool, so I'm speaking about these activities.
Crazy golf was awkward. The area is quite dimly lit, but that does really add some atmosphere, the problem the course has is that is really poorly maintained with hole 3 not being in service, hole 5 having 2/4 frames uncovered and no scoring visible, hole 6 then has a section of metal rail that a ball stops on so you need to poke it, hole 7 doesn't have any frame behind where you start and if you don't get it in one, that ball is falling onto the hole 6 course, and hole 8 seems to be made from cardboard and has been ripped and torn to the point you can't really do the whole skiball thing. Overall it's not a great look, the frames are mostly topped with electrical hazard tape which is in various states of coming off and all of this is such a shame because the variety and fun of this course is really there!
Pool was also awkward, we had a near corner table and for half an hour all was well, but another group arrived to play shuffleboard (I think, and they have every right to do what they've paid for) in the corner and it just felt like we were on top of each other a lot, table wasn't marked at all that I could see and one of the cues had the tip duct taped on.
As a concept this bar is fantastic, but I feel they've dropped the ball on implementation and...
