We visited this café recently and while the food quality was great, the overall experience was disappointing. I had the Turkish eggs, which were delicious and made with quality ingredients, but the portioning was off — just one very thin slice of sourdough meant most of the dish was left without anything to dip. More frustratingly, my meal arrived 10–15 minutes before my husband’s, so I had to wait and ended up eating it cold. He had the breakfast burrito, which was tasty but let down by overcooked eggs. His cappuccino was also underwhelming — slightly burnt and small for the price, especially at a place that focuses on coffee. When I asked the waitress if it was normal for meals to come out so far apart, she said no and mentioned they’re still adjusting to new grill timings. I asked her to pass on our complaint to the manager, but no one followed up, which made it feel like they didn’t really care. The café has potential, but service and communication need improvement before we’d think about returning.

Been in twice in the last two days and had a really good experience. Had a coldbrew (not as strong a flavour as I tend to like, but refreshing) and some truly excellent hot coffees. Cinnamon bun was really delicious, and the food was high-quality and a nice change from the most typical coffee shop menu. The space is large and kept pretty dark, which makes it easy to lose track of time (I came at relatively quiet times so I could sit there with my breakfast and a book without being in anyone's way. Staff was really friendly & helpful, and again - very good coffee. Seems like everyone involved is invested in the quality and standards of what they're selling. Overall really liked the place, and will definitely come back next time I'm in Cardiff.

24thjuly morning. This is one of the worst coffee shops in Cardiff. I settled down and found a spot by the window, as soon as I came round to making my decision a staff member with glasses, ask me abruptly to come buy something. To which I replied I haven’t made my decision just yet but I am gonna come up soon. He said if you’re not buying anything get out I said do you have any idea what these coffee shops are all about ? Not being funny this is shite service dude. I swear literally walked into Starbucks never thought I’d do this. Some dude asked me to take a seat get comfy. I told him of the troubles I had at this unsettling place and he made me my favourite coffee on the house. Starbucks 1 uncommon ground roasterie 0

Really disappointed in the service today. 5 people got served coffee infront of myself, following making the team aware of this, a following 2 customers got served infront of me again. Proceeded to wait for food over 25mins for 2 flatbreads. These then got brought out with additional items on the flatbread that wasn't listed on the menu (we wouldn't have choosen this, if this was on the menu. Or requested without at least) made them aware we wouldn't be able to eat this. Said this will be back with us in 5 minutes as only 1 of us was then sat with food. Did communicate we wasn't happy at this point and requested a partial refund. We received this, waited for the promised food due to the team recorrecting their issue, as this was not at any point stated the refund is in replace of the meal. To which we were then told, you now haven't paid for this, so we're not giving this to you. Awful service, awful communication by staff. 50minutes later in a coffee shop, leaving with a person not eating due to mistakes of Uncommon ground. Did receive a full refund eventually after the continuous issues, but will not be returning or...

very nice environment, could stay here for hours to read or work

staff weren't rude but didn't seem very bothered? Didn't smile or look me in the eye

latte was extremely bitter and Welsh cake was just average. Also quite pricey

I don't want to judge a place on one visit but I'm not going to be raving about this place to my friends.

UPDATE

so 8 months later I decide to give this place another try, unfortunately it's the same story, the staff didn't smile or even look at me properly once, didn't feel very hospitable at all. The coffee was really bitter (didn't want to finish it) And to top it off there were fruit flies all over cup after not touching it for 2 minutes

As before the environment is really nice and a great study spot, but the staff seem like they are on the end of a 12 hour shift no matter when you go The coffee is not great and now they have a fruit fly problem.. Dont think I will be...
