I recently took my kids to John Dory's Fish and Chips shop for a mid-week meal, and it was a delightful experience. The food was incredibly fresh, and it felt like a step above your regular chippy. The fish was perfectly battered and flaky, while the chips were golden and crispy, just the way they should be. What really stood out was the dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, making it a great spot for families. The staff was friendly, and the service was efficient. They made dining in with kids a breeze. John Dory's strikes a wonderful balance between the traditional charm of a fish and chips shop and a slightly more upscale dining experience. It's the ideal place for a mid-week family meal when you want something a bit special. We'll definitely be returning for more delicious fish and chips soon.

The reviews don't lie; this is the best fish and chips I've ever had, bar none. The batter is light and super crispy, not greasy, prawns and onion rings were delicious too. British cuisine at its finest - a whole table of deep fried beige food. Seriously though, the cod was lovely, a chunky bit of fish cooked to perfection and dining in we had salt and vinegar on the table to drown our meal in at our discretion. Turns out chip shops use a lot more than you think because I just kept adding and adding it ha. This was enough between two and the menu has a lot of options, including various fritters and fish cakes. There are sweets too but we are not brave enough for a battered cookie dough! Parking was tough on a Saturday night but be patient and something will show up!

I turned up on my skates all the eay from barrow upon soar and I ordered scampi and chips. The staff are so welcoming there..so as I said I opted for the scampi and chips..I nip shop and came back and the lovely girl walked outside for me with my food ..bless her! The food is amazing. I got a large peace of lemon which made my food taste much better..the chips are spot on and the batter to the scampi is something else! Oh and the sauce I can not remember the name off is spot on too! I'll be back [ terminator] ha ha

We came here 2 weeks ago and the food was lovely, there is nothing that I could possibly fault about it. However, the table service was not that great and I found the girls who served us to not be very welcoming and seemed a bit cold. I had 2 battered sausages with chips and the waitress assumed that we asked for 2 sets of battered sausages so 2 plates came to the table! We took the extra plate of sausages back but it was still on the bill when we came to pay, and it was quickly taken off with no issues.

Overall, it is a really nice restaurant in a good, quiet setting, but the only thing that let it down for me was the pricing (it was about £6 for my meal and the people I went with had food that came up to £8.40 each), and the service, which I hope can be...
