My wife and I came to The Mugal for a meal to celebrate having a child-free evening. We had a pre-meal drink in The Swan In The Rushes (great selection of beers, definitely worth a visit) before coming over the road for food. The interior of the Mugal is modern and stylish. We were warmly welcomed and, since it was early evening, we were able to choose our table. The menu was a good mix of dishes you'd expect to see and a good variety of other interesting dishes. We had some poppadoms and pickles and shared onion bhaji for a starter (there were two large fresh and crispy bhajis, delicious and perfect to share). For mains we had chicken biriani and a paneer curry dish (can't remember the name) with a portion of rice and a nan bread. The food was delicious, though we couldn't eat it all (the staff were happy to put the remaining food in containers to take home). We really enjoyed our meal at the Mugal: very good food at good prices (£32 for two 2 course meals and drinks) in very pleasant surroundings with attentive and friendly waiting staff.
