Unfortunately I experienced a very unusual incident that i have never seen before in all the public houses I have ever been in (and that is quite a few). It was a Friday afternoon and I had just been served when the lady behind the bar refused to serve the next customer. He was a polite young man there with his young wife. He wanted a drink for himself but his wife did not drink. Apparently the reason he was not served was because his wife was not having a drink. The young man showed his I.D to prove he was old enough but was still refused. Then immediately afterwards an elderly man who was there with his young grandson was also refused. The reason given was that the boy was not old enough to drink (which was true enough) but his granddad only wanted to buy him a coke.
