Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Cheltenham

It's a little ironic but I do not actually enjoy coffee or tea all that much so I do not find myself in coffee shops that much. This being said, I think Costa coffee is one of the better ones for people like me as they do offer more selection beyond hot drinks, their smoothie selection is brilliant, and my favourite options here, although their iced tea is also good. They also offer a range of snacks which are great. The staff here are friendly, professional, and quick. One issue I did find with Costa is it's fairly small inside, and at times, I imagine lunch on a typical work day, you can find yourself queuing up, this leads to the queue going outside, and on a cold day, is not very pleasant when the door is left open, this is something I'm sure is difficult to manage though. Ordered food and coffee - food was sat on the side waiting 5 minutes for the girl with the shaved back of head to make a coffee. I know what the back of her hair looks like because it’s all I could see while she chatted to her mate. Cappucino came out with overdone milk so was like bubble bath bubbles. There was nobody else in the queue so I’m stood there listening to her banal conversation while my food goes cold and she’s literally holding my Cappucino while she chats away…

I used to work as a barista about a decade ago. It takes less than 2 mins to make a coffee, and the foam should be dense enough that you can stand a sugar cube on it, while also being able to draw a picture in the coffee.

I came to this costa just over a week ago (on the 12th) and had been having a bad day as I often feel very unwelcome when i’m in Cheltenham. However the two ladies who were working when I came in were so lovely and kind, they had unfortunately been having a bit of a difficult time as everything seemed to be going wrong and customers weren’t being very patient. Despite all of this, the workers were so friendly and took their time with the customers who were using different codes etc which wouldn’t scan, and were very apologetic for the wait. I was so in awe of how well the two young women were handling the chaos they had to deal with, and can’t say how much I appreciated them still smiling and trying their absolute best.
