Ritual Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Cheltenham

Stopped by Ritual Coffee in the Cheltenham Industrial Estate for a quick lunch, I wanted to go somewhere “nice” but “close”, and this fit the brief.

We got the scrambled egg croissant and an oxtail sandwich, which were vastly different, unique and and delicious. We also got a side order of the mushrooms to share. I believe the menu changes regularly - but have heard it’s usually this good.

We ordered a cappuccino and iced latte - the days are getting hotter, and it’s time to start moving to iced coffee drinks, but I still sometimes forget or decide to risk overheating myself for the comfort of a hot coffee.

Great coffee, nice staff and atmosphere. The food is also very good when you get it. Today my partner and I went to have coffee and I also ordered toast. There were 5 other customers all of whom had been served. My coffee was served and finally after 10 minutes my toast arrived. I had finished my coffee by then and had to order another. No offer of a free one and no rush to prepare a new one. By the time the coffee arrived my toast was getting cold. This is not the first time that I have had this experience. Last time I was given a free coffee in recognition of the time that I had waited. Visited this café expecting comfortable county place. However as its open-minded vibe environmental left feeling disappointed. While the place tries to present itself as trendy, the prices are more in line with a luxury venue without the quality or service to match.

The food and coffee were overpriced, especially compared to other great spots in Cheltenham Montpellier or area, Cleanliness was also an issue tables were wiped down with cloths that left an unpleasant smell, which really put me off. Forget the smell do not expect seat in comfy chairs, yes you have to seat like public school.
