ALLERGIES BEWARE!! I went for tea and cake here with my family and had a near miss with my nut allergy. I was looking at the cakes on display and saw a raspberry and ruby chocolate dulce bar. The allergens listed on the card were dairy, egg, and soya. Nowhere on the card did it mention nuts. However once I had got the slice and sat down ready to eat it my sister noticed that on the top of the slice, what I had thought were dried rose pieces actually included bits of pistachio. Luckily she noticed this before I took a bite. My sister ate a bit to confirm it was pistachio, and also mentioned that the internal part of the bar also tasted like nuts and after googling we found out dulce is traditionally made with praline. Neither of these ingredients were mentioned on the card and when we asked the staff about it, they replied "oh I don't think it's got nuts", proceeded to check the ingredients book and then stated "oh yeah it says nuts on top". This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. The staff were extremely rude and discriminatory. After I ordered tea and scones to eat inside, I was told I could not sit in an available area because the floor had just been mopped. When I questioned this, one staff member told me to “go out,” which was insulting and unacceptable. Another then suggested I could sit “in the dog area.”
