When we arrived the waiter was very abrupt and uninterested in any questions we asked him about the menu but we didn't ĺet that spoil our meal as the food was lovely. When we got the bill that all changed. The bill was higher than expected so we spoke to the manager to sort it out however he wouldn't let us speak and kept talking over us eventually I said can u let me speak then i had to write it on a bit of paper what we were expecting to get him to understand what I was talking about. When i proved him right there was no apology he just changed the bill and our money. We are not talking bout a couple of pence difference we are talking over £8 difference. Before we left I said do u think talking to ur customers like that is good customer service without even a sorry so he muttered sorry. It was so ridiculous it was laughable. I dont even care who was right or wrong about the price we were charged it was just the way the manager dealt with our query I most annoyed at. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOT TO BE TALKED OVER IF U HAVE A QUERY AND TO BE BILLED CORRECTLY. A customer service management course is most...
Read morePurple Mango was a spontaneous choice on a weekend away. When we arrived the table was set up perfectly and everything was set to a very high standard. We were given some poppadoms with fantastic dips as an appetiser whilst we picked our food, and was told not to rush which was a nice touch.
My partner ordered the Meat Thali (good bang for buck as you get a lot on your plate, a little bit of everything - good if you’re indecisive) and I went for the Chicken Rogan Josh. These were the best Indian dishes we have ever eaten in a Restaurant, and take-away alike. The meat was cooked to perfection in both dishes, the sauce was amazing - you could taste everything that went in to make the dish. Both rice and the Naan breads were perfect too. Whilst we ate the staff approached us numerous times to ask whether everything was going okay which was nice of them.
Purple Mango is a fantastic place, the menu is very comprehensive and the staff are extremely welcoming and kind. I would recommend this Indian to anyone who comes to Banbury and surrounding areas for time away, or if they are...
Read moreWent as a group of 12 on Thursday, banquet night. From the moment we arrived the manager was very abrupt and seemed annoyed that we were there. Taking our orders he was rude at times, telling one of my friends to hush and wait his turn. I wanted to order a side dish which I was quite happy to pay extra for but was refused. As soon as some of our friends had put their cutlery down the plates were rushed away even though the rest of us were still eating, which I think is very rude. As soon as the dishes were cleared away we were given bits of orange and the bill, no offer of picking a sweet. It was just after 10pm so we asked could we order another round of drinks but were refused. We were made to feel very unwelcome, the food wasn’t very good either. I think this manager could do with some customer service training asap as he will lose a lot of customers with this attitude. We will never go back again, it is a shame because we have been there quite a few times when it was a different manager who was welcoming and had a...
