🥖 “Enlightenment Between Two Slices of Bread” 🥖
A Customer’s Philosophical Journey at Subway
I walked into Subway expecting a sandwich. What I received was a moment of truth, wrapped in parchment and good cheer.
The sandwich artist greeted me—not with the tired monotone of routine, but with the theatrical flair of someone who had chosen, not fallen into, their calling. They didn’t just ask, “What can I get for you today?” They asked, in essence: “Who are you, in sandwich form?”
And for the first time, I had to consider that.
Was I the steady, classic integrity of turkey and provolone? Or the wild, unapologetic spirit of a Buffalo Chicken renegade with jalapeños unchained?
The bread was warm, but their energy was warmer. Each topping became a metaphor. The lettuce, a reminder of freshness in an aging world. The cucumbers, cool clarity amidst life’s heat. The red onions—bold, slightly tear-inducing, but real. Honest.
As my sandwich came together, I realized something simple but profound: This was not assembly. It was performance art.
The artist didn’t just make my sub—they summoned it. With a wink and a flourish, they wrapped it not only in paper, but in pride. And as they handed it to me, I didn’t just receive lunch—I received affirmation.

Read moreWe’ve ordered from here twice now through Just Eat and both times the orders haven’t been right. The first time items were missing. The second time I ordered a toasted Club Master which consists of turkey, bacon, poached egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and mayo… And I received a hot salad sandwich! No turkey. No bacon. No egg. No cheese. Just the salad and mayo! How do you forget to put the main items of the sandwich in?? Tried to ring them with the number provided on both Just Eat and the website and the call kept cutting off. Thankfully, we got a refund for it through Just Eat, but we’ll definitely not be ordering...
