We wandered in, ravenous from searching.....seated immediately, our order of 2 pints and a Cuba Libreā were dispatched with haste. The atmosphere seemed on the lively side of things, bordering on jovial. I asked āso where is the tunnelā? Dead silence for a good 5 seconds. Off in the distance, a dog barked. At this point the barkeep vaulted the counter and led the entire assemblage in riotous laughter: full on with sides slapped, fingers pointing, a slow clapping in unison. Somewhat taken aback, the young lady waiting on our party discreetly asked āwhat bloody tunnelā? About this time, our order arrived: hearty stew, shepherds pie, with a side of Brussels sprouts (delicious!). I says to her āwhy the Chunnel, of courseā! The whole place erupted once again. I must say a happy group, the whole lot of them. We really enjoyed our meal, the service was boisterous, all in all a great value! We were then sent to someplace known as āMorecambeā. We were evidently a ways off course. Must remember to bring the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe popped in on Saturday afternoon with our two youngest boys (12 and 21 months old) and sat in the pub garden. The one year old had a wonderful time in the little park area and the food was amazing. The kids meals are reasonably priced but looks like adult meals with no reduction in the quality of ingredients. This was ideal for our twelve year old who is still a child but almost ready for an adult meal, but the baby thoroughly enjoyed his meal too. The wife and I had the wing platter to share, which was very impressive. It came with three different flavoured wings (BBQ, Buffalo, and southern fried) in a decent sized portion of each, some lovely home made coleslaw, a nice salad, and a side of chips. The bar staff were all friendly and Amy the manager even came out to make sure we were all ok and we had a lovely chat. It's the perfect pub for a Saturday afternoon in the sunshine, and the inside looked...

We were all exceptionally impressed with the friendly service we received when ordering and having the food bought to the table.
The food, I have to say was way above expectations and for the price real value for money too.
We ordered a cheeseburger for one of the children (it's double stacked) rack of ribs for another child (no ribs left after but perhaps a few too many chips on the dish than neccessry). Adults order a ploughman's and "Wings more Wings" to share, they where large platters and you could get away with one dish between two people.
Overall I feel the quality, value and venue all are wonderful. Just watch out for the local agro seagull who's keen to pinch your food, especially if you sit on the picnic tables (the booths are...
