Very good value, lovely food and a pleasant ambience make this a great place to eat.

We visited on a weekday morning while staying nearby.

The mini breakfast at £4.25 appealed. We also had a mug of Illy coffee each.

The coffee was good and they also had soya milk available.

The mini breakfast was ready in just over ten minutes. It was a lot larger than expected, including sausage, bacon, beans, mushrooms and egg on toast.

Really delicious. I especially loved the mushrooms and bacon.

The café has a pleasant decor, and comfortable seats. It has seating for around thirty inside, plus a garden area, and outside seating in front too.

Table service is available if sitting inside. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There's a unisex customer toilet available, although it didn't look wide enough for a wheelchair user.

The café is fully accessible and finding suitable seating for a wheelchair user shouldn't be a problem.

Apart from breakfast, they do main meals, cakes, sandwiches and burgers among the many choices. Take away is available on many items.

We paid a total of £12.30, which is one of the best value breakfasts we've had. Note they take cash only, no cards.

Whatever you fancy, The Local Café is well...

Lovely little cafe and lovely food. Me my partner and daughter visited yesterday morning for a breakfast before we left the area. My daughter ate quite a lot of her breakfast (she’s very very fussy so I’m happy!) and me and my partner practically finished ours. We had a small breakfast each but it was a very good size, I couldn’t have eaten anything bigger. The waitress was a really lovely young girl, you could tell she was a bit nervous but made sure we had everything we could have needed! The owner (I think she was anyway) was also fab and gave my daughter a lolly as we were leaving :) I’m not sure if it’s a regular thing or if the card machine was broken but make sure you take some cash - sign on the till to say cash only which wasn’t a...

Absolutely awful Cod, chips and peas that was like a very badly cooked 'Cash and Carry' meal. Horrible hard batter, peas that were discolored that looked like they had been flash frozen with white spots on them. They were hard and had a funny cheap taste. I just about managed most of the chips as I was hungry but the fish was kind of water logged and smelled like it had been cooked in diesel! Frankly, no stars. When I said the fish had a funny taste and neither myself or my Wife could eat it, the exact reply was, "sorry about that". Not as sorry as me having just parted with £17 for something not fit for the cat to eat. If you are going to run a cafe, serve edible food and try to have a nicer attitude!...

The chef here invites customers to build their own breakfast. I had halloumi, avocado, poached eggs, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes and brown toast. It was all cooked to perfection! My husband had a full English and loved it! All served with a smile and two cups of delicious coffee. Will come again next time we are in Selsey. Might try a vegetarian Turkish breakfast next time!
