I visited this place upon recommendation and I wasnt disappointed. It would have had 5 stars as I thoroughly enjoyed my visit however the door entrance is on a slight incline up the street & you need to tackle 2 steps before you get in. If you're able bodied no problem but my mum in a wheelchair was a bit tricky. Needless to say I had to get her in first & seated & then rescue the wheelchair from the path & hoof it up the steps!! Once seated the menu is varied with home cooked breakfast. For lunch various guises of sandwiches & jacket potatoes which we ordered 2 JPs with prawns & sauce. Absolutely delicious. Plump prawns, nice side salad & homemade coleslaw. Afterwards we had homemade scones with clotted cream & locally produced jam. For drinks we had loose leaf tea which was a refreshing treat as it's too easy to use tea bags & we had China teapot, cups, milk jug & individual strainers. It's a long way for lunch & cream tea but a lovely drive on the A272 through petersfield made it all worthwhile.

Petworth is a very lovely place to visit, but you need to be aware that 95% of its shops are closed on Sunday, the fact that this little caffe was open and we managed to find a table was a really nice. But it was sooooo hot inside and to make it worse thé sun was piercing our heads 😢 Thé staff were friendly yet you can tell they to were effected by the heat, and kept forgetting to bring out some of the items we ordered. They remembered my cake just as we were about to leave. Their pizza tasted okay but it was also reasonably priced and you have a choice of gluten free base, in fact what I liked is that they catered for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free ⭐️ Even though the heat made it very uncomfortable, I liked its pink colours, the atmosphere, the simplicity of the decor, and would definitely visit again

Stopped here for some lunch. The menu looked nice, they do a lot of different sandwiches, both cold and toasted. All served with some crisps. They had English breakfast, baked potato, scones, and a few cakes as well. We both opted for the toasted bacon & cheese. It did not disappoint! Cheese was very flavoursome and bacon cooked just as I like it. Big slices of bread. Saw some of our neighbouring tables food as well, which all looked nice. Location is lovely. Decoration inside is very cute and homey. We would definitely come back here and try more things on the menu!

Oh ..... the scones! Large, fresh and served with a goodly supply of the traditional butter, cream and your preserve of choice. They're no good whatsoever for the waistline, but if we're being honest .... when they're this excellent, which these are, frankly, who cares? The wide selection of cakes looked very inviting too.

The tea is the real stuff .... remember when a pot came with a tea strainer? Well, here IT STILL DOES ..... which is a 'plus several dozen points' in my books. Others, please take note.

This tea room is quite small, nicely cozy and a most refreshingly civilized experience, with very friendly and helpful staff, located just off the very centre of the town..

On-street parking can be 'interesting', Petworth (which is a charming working Mid-Sussex market town and well worth a visit in it's own right, especially when the market is in town), has a decent sized 'pay and display' car park, handy for the centre. Lying at the junction of the east-west A272 and roads north and to the coast, Petworth is a great place to stop a while and take a breather.

This tea room is very much on my 'approved list' and we'll definitely be back, when we're in town.

So sad to do a negative review as we like this place and dog friendly. The reason it gets one star is its Vegetarian Breakfast ! Absolutely hopeless. I asked what Full English include and they said had Sausages & Bacon which is fine but when I asked what was in the Vegetarian Breakfast they said the same as Full English but without sausages and bacon!! Both Breakfast priced at £9 !!! No attempt to provide a decent Vegetarian Breakfast removing the meat and doing nothing else and charging the same price is just conning the customer. And shows no attempt to properly cater to Vegetarians. Also the menu didn't list the ingredients so people will be fooled into thinking they are getting a decent Vegetarian menu when they won't be. Really surprised they have done this plenty of places now provide good options. We are usually part of a group of friends some meat eaters and some veggies. So means we could never visit place again as would be really unfair on vegetarians. Really so sad as previously have enjoyed here. Hope they read reviews and change things to give a decent veggie...
