I recently had the pleasure of dining at Angles and Bagpipes in Edinburgh Scotland, and I can wholeheartedly say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. This establishment truly knows how to deliver a memorable dining experience.
To begin with, the food at Angles and Bagpipes is simply outstanding. We started our culinary journey with the salmon appetizer, which came with a delightful cucumber sauce. The salmon was impeccably cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. The cucumber sauce added a refreshing and zesty touch, creating a perfect harmony of tastes. It was a tantalizing start that set the tone for the rest of our meal.
The highlight of our evening was the Chateau Briand for two, paired with a carefully selected wine. The Chateau Briand was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent. The flavors were rich and savory, and it practically melted in our mouths. The wine pairing was spot-on, enhancing the meal and elevating the entire dining experience.
The service at Angles and Bagpipes was equally remarkable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make our evening special. They guided us through the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured that our needs were met throughout the meal. Their warm and friendly demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also a standout feature. It exuded an inviting and sophisticated ambiance that made us feel comfortable and relaxed. The tasteful decor, soft lighting, and subtle music created a perfect setting for an intimate dinner.
Angles and Bagpipes is a gem of a restaurant that deserves high praise. The food is nothing short of exceptional, with flavors that linger in your memory. The attentive service and charming atmosphere complete the package, making it a top choice for a special night out or any occasion when you want to savor extraordinary cuisine. I wholeheartedly recommend Angles and Bagpipes to anyone seeking a culinary experience in Edinburgh that goes above and beyond...
Read moreHad an unpleasant experience myself even before having a meal there. I was looking for a place to celebrate my graduation dinner with my parents which are 9 of us. I went into this restaurant because having read all the reviews it is one of the famous Scottish food in Edinburgh. There, a woman (didn't remember her face but she's got dark hair) at the reception didn't even smile or offered if i needed any help at first. She might wonder why an asian walking into the restaurant I thought, that's understandable, so I explained to her I was looking to book a restaurant for my special occasion and asked if I could look inside the restaurant (coz I wanted the most special place for my day). She then took me inside but without welcoming or smile - again this really made me feel like she looked down on me. The restaurant was nice inside and other waiters even seemed to welcome me more than she did. In the end, she told me I had to pay a deposit (£10/person) on the phone 4 days in advance to secure a table and she SERIOUSLY meant that. OK, I've never been to a very posh expensive restaurants but this seems nonsense (do all those who would like to have a meal in the expensive restaurants need to pay a deposit? come on! it's not like renting a flat!!!). So, I asked her more and again she explained - with serious and very unfriendly face looking down on me like I wouldn't be able to afford to come to HER restaurant. My feeling of having this restaurant at my 1st choice for my big day is now clear that I would never come here again. And you know what, you've lost at least 500 quids. I didn't ask you to cook and serve for us. What an arrogant act, doesn't really care that I am a...
Read moreOur dinner at Angels with Bagpipes was a true celebration of taste, nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we sipped the Bobbie Sour, a whiskey-based delight that set the stage for a memorable meal, we knew we were in for a sensory feast. The appetizers were a promising start; the aromatic sourdough with olive oil was exceptional, while the heirloom tomato and burrata beautifully orchestrated a masterful play of textures and flavors.
As we moved on to the mains, each dish continued the celebration of taste. The rare-cooked lamb loin, accompanied by haggis and chicory, melted effortlessly on the palate. The twelve-hour braised beef and medium-rare fillet steak stood as culinary masterpieces, each bursting with intricate flavors that demonstrated the kitchenâs expertise.
The meal reached its pinnacle with dessertâthe crowning touch of mascarpone mousse that was both elegant and indulgent. Our server Meghan, though new, was exceptionally attentive and amiable, making the experience even more delightful.
We owe our discovery of this local gem to a friendâs recommendation, and itâs abundantly clear why Angels with Bagpipes is so cherished by...
