Myself and lads were in Edinburgh last weekend. Tipped into Sisters on Friday (15th Sept) around 19:30. As we all arrived one of the lads accidentally walked in the exit instead of the entrance which are located right beside each other at the front gate. Bear in mind he had never been there before, so it was an easy mistake to make. Also bear in mind there was actually no one arriving or leaving at the time. The kind and friendly bouncer took all this on board and immediately roared at by my mate that he needed to walk back out the exit and walk back in the entrance. Cool the jets crazy bouncer man. My mate had to walk out and literally turn around and walk back in. LOLs.
Headed inside which wasn't too packed but found it hard to get served. Lots of staff milling around but none that actually seemed that bothered if you got served or not. Most of staff seemed more interested in trying to avoid you rather then serve you. Ordered some beers finally but by 20:30 the place was absolutely wedged. Pointless trying to order any more drinks at this stage especially seeing as it was slow earlier when you were standing at the bar never mind 2 or 3 rows back. Appreciate it was a Friday night and there was a college night on and raining outside so most people were inside as opposed to in the beer garden but getting out of the place was mission to say the least. Tom Cruise would have struggled I reckon and let’s be honest here Tom rarely struggles ever. Solid wall to wall with people. Like the proverbial sardines in the proverbial sardine tin. I dread to think what would have happened if there was reason to try and evacuate the place in a hurry. There would have been some stampede/carnage. As we left people were still being admitted
Popped back in on the Saturday (16th) (genuinely not sure why) to catch some of the football around 13:00. Place not that busy at all but sadly exact same issue as previous night with the bar staff and ordering drinks. The staff work hard at trying to avoid you. I'll give them that. Between the four of us we ordered some drinks and food.
Tiger tiger chicken wings (one was eaten, and rest left as they were so bad) Nacho cheese tortillas (tasteless tortillas with tasteless cheese sauce. Majority left behind) Sweet and sour BBQ pulled pork pizza (slightly raw around the edges and cold in the middle) Riegelmann Hot Dog (Not good.. Not good at all)
And just to point out we not picky when it comes to food. I once ate a 5 pound kebab and lived to tell the tale. The food was horrendous. Not sure if it was an off day in the kitchen or the chef started early on the sherry, but it wasn't good.
One of lads called Ken had been there before, said he would normally give a ten but alas he no longer can. I suppose that's just Ken. He will always be a friend though. Silver lining, I suppose.
Anyways we all left and headed to Telegraph Road.. One of the lads had left his keys there.
Methinks we won't be...
Read moreTerrible experience over Wales v Scotland match, pre booked a table for my family and i paid £75 and was a shambles when we turned up as no way through the court yard safely you had to literally push past like sardines to get through and was told we were upstairs so we went upstairs and then was told no no you are downstairs so went downstairs and so went back down amongst the absolute chaos and they had so many people waiting who had paid more than us for there experience and were late getting seated, we finally got taken to our table over 20 minutes later than our booked and paid for time after much confusion from staff with where it was everyone was sitting! And then there was people sat on our table who then had to be moved and table cleared so that took another ten minutes so half an hour late we finally sit down and time was going on the game had already started and so we were not happy about that, and then the whole hassle of asking where our drinks were after another twenty minutes of waiting and that was all stress as we had paid for drinks and food in advance before going to Edinburgh and then the shambles of the three sisters took away our experience of watching the rugby in there bar! Would never recommend going during any rugby festival or anything big as it was dangerously busy, personally after going to the three sisters and seeing how it was managed from getting in the court yard etc they should have a pathway from the entrance to the door clear from people, put a barrier either side so it’s safe to walk through and there should be no pre booking on rugby days etc as it should be first come first served in there with getting a table, very disappointed and not worth £75, way way too busy in there, how there allowed to have that many people in there is beyond me! Health and safety would of had a field day! Better management and thought for...
Read moreShame on Discriminatory Dress Code and Racist Guard I was excited to spend a memorable night with some classmates before some of them left the city. As I am from East Asia, it will not be easy for me to return to Europe in the future and reunite with my my pals. Little did I know, this excitement would turn into frustration due to the club's discriminatory dress code and the rude action of the staff.
After the pres, we were all looking forward to enjoying ourselves and making lasting memories. However, upon arriving at the club, I was shocked to find out that I was not allowed inside due to wearing trousers. The reason given was that I needed to be wearing jeans to enter. This immediately struck me as both arbitrary and unjust. What made matters worse was that when the guards lost patience and shouted at me, some of other males were also wearing trousers, yet they were not subjected to the same restriction. The inconsistency in enforcing this dress code left me feeling being racist and humiliated.
What angers me even more is that this racial discrimination behavior not only ruined our evening but also potentially severed the last opportunity to spend time with some of my classmates before they left. It is truly disheartening that a club would prioritize enforcing a questionable dress code over providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for its patrons. Racism and rudeness have no place in any establishment, especially in a diverse and multicultural city like Edinburgh. I strongly urge others to consider this situation before choosing to patronize this club. No one should be subjected to such treatment based on their normal clothing choices or ethnicity.
I hope that by sharing my experience, others will be cautious when deciding where to spend their...
