I never post reviews however I feel obliged in this instance so this doesn’t happen to any other children. My family and I attempted to visit the Cockburn Street location at 5:20 PM on June 3, 2023 - 40 minutes prior to the advertised closing time. It was the only thing my 8 year old wanted to do during our very short day in Edinburgh. When we arrived at 5:20 PM - the door was locked however there were lights on and 2-3 employees still inside. I and other visitors knocked on the door - however it wasn’t answered. One employee inside made a shooing gesture, that I mistook for directing me to the window. I walked to to window where another employees where was visible. I tapped on the window attempting to understand if the location was indeed closed, gesturing to my phone screen showing the 6pm closing time. I was attempting to find out when they might re-open or at least obtain an explanation for my son. Instead of communicating back, I received more dismissive gestures from the same male employee. There was no “closed sign” on the door, listed hours of operation, or any sign whatsoever. My son began crying and begging to know why, if there were people inside, no explanations were provided. The rudeness and ignoring of questioning patrons outside was a bit surreal. I admit I got frustrated and eventually just extended my middle finger in front of the glass, but I’m having trouble regretting that message. Please, do not let this happen again to another little one - or at least hire employees with the decency to offer an explanation , apology, or sign. Although some folks might find this silly to post about - this was a significant let down for my son that I’m at loss in trying to explain - other than to say some some people shouldn’t be in the roles they are in, and people are cruel. Beware and be...

Read moreBeautiful shop with a very unhappy retail lady.
We walked in speaking Spanish and heard her speaking it also so we greeted with a smile and a "hola" with what she answered back "omg I feel like at the Spanish embassy" in a very rude manner. She then went on her phone to answer her messages while people were queuing up to pay. I walked downstairs while my friends were upstairs and she approached the door banging the gate into some Asian tourists who were about to walk in at 17:49! Started taking everything off and seemed very pissed about new customers.
I work in hospitality and I do understand that talking to tourists all day can be tiring and repetitive but its HER JOB at the end of the day.
My friend bought a limited edition harry potter book and she talked to her in english, mumbling in purpose so she couldn't understand her and even tho it was very clear our friend had trouble understanding her she kept going I english with an arrogant attitude towards her. She was spanish, dark her, I believe she had a nose piercing and had a really silly accent (trying to cover the spanish accent)
We will certainly not bring our friends back while they're over visiting. Hope management gets to see this because she isn't good for your business at all! I want to also remark that she heard us speaking Spanish all along ans refused to be helpful.
Really really really...
