Costa Coffee — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

This morning, I visited the Costa Coffee inside Cameron Toll and was served by a young woman with black hair. Unfortunately, her attitude was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.

When I placed my order, she behaved as if she were doing me a favour by serving me. Her rudeness genuinely made me lose my appetite. If she is so unhappy working there, perhaps she should reconsider her role. At the very least, she needs proper training in manners and customer service skills.

I have been to this Costa on different occasions and have been served by her before. The first time she was rude, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, perhaps she was having a bad day or was frustrated with work. But it’s now clear that her negative attitude is consistent every time I’ve encountered her.

I am not the only one to have had a negative experience here, many other reviews also mention rude staff. The managers really need to address this issue.

Extremely disappointed this morning, I specifically pick this costa with my baby daughter as the staff are always so helpful and friendly however today a very cold welcome and unhelpful member of staff whom then claimed to be a manager(to my shock someone with such an attitude could possibly be in charge) after a confrontational service at the counter with unnecessary attitude and then had me searching round the store for a highchair rather than just helping me then pointing to one hidden in the corner when I asked if it was clean she replied with a stern “they are cleaned every time” I ask as I had just witnessed a customer remove someone’s dishes and sat at a dirty un sanitised table,

I will think twice about where we choose for our breakfast next...

Cycled here on 21/11/20 at about 12:40. Due to Covid I didn't want to go inside the very busy shop so I decided I'd cycle round the drive-thru. Waited in a cue of cars for about 5 minutes to get to the Ordering machine. When I got there the woman taking orders through the machine told me she can't serve me because I'm not in a motor vehicle. I politely explained to her that I was in fact in a motor vehicle because I was cycling on an electric bike which has a motor in it. She then changed her position and told me she couldn't serve me because I was on a bike. I asked why this was and she said health and safety. I mean, how ridiculous! Seemingly it's safe for me to cycle 30mph down the A702 but it's unsafe for me to cycle 5mph around a drive-thru....
