As many locals will know, this cafe is on the site of the so very missed Mo's. For those that don't know, it was a lovely cafe much adored by locals and regulars who were devastated by Mo's death. But, having been here, several times now, (I'd be there every day if my budget allowed it!) let me tell you that Mo would love it here. Calum and Sophie are utterly fabulous and have created a very special café that continues the spirit of what Mo created, whilst simultaneously putting their own stamp on it. The atmosphere is relaxed with fantastic coffee and incredibly tasty food. I highly recommend the Folks' salad. Smoothies are also refreshing and the daily Bread and Spread a great value and filling lunch option. Tunes play on vinyl at the front, book swaps are available, and there's even plants and local artwork for sale. Family run, offering a selection of vegan food (soup, pizza, salads, spread (open sandwich) and warm sandwich of the day (super generous filled bread roll with hot filling), plus cakes, teas, and coffees.
We had the soup of the day (spicy lentil) served with bread, sandwich (roll) of the day (generously filled with warm tofu, mushroom and carrot/beetroot salad, etc.), two coffees and a piece of the forest fruits and chocolate cake (for c. £28).

The shop-front is easy to miss, particularly if you are walking South down Easter Road, which would be a shame as this is a good addition...
Read moreI stumbled upon this place on accident. I was looking for a vegan place to eat at next to me, and oh boy how glad I was! The place is well decorated, welcoming and with good music. The food was good and reasonably priced. I had a chickpea wrap, a family recipe turned vegan. I had a blast, it was tasteful, well balanced and filling. The owners were nice people, and answered my question about the city. I will definitely go back when back...
