I recently visited FRANKENSTEIN & BIER KELLER, a unique spot that offers an unforgettable experience with its exceptional beer selection and enthralling live Frankenstein show. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was electric, perfectly blending the theme of Frankenstein with the coziness of a traditional bier keller. The beer selection was impressive, featuring a variety of delicious brews that cater to all tastes, from rich stouts to crisp lagers. Each beer I tried was well-crafted, showcasing unique flavors and perfect carbonation that enhanced the overall drinking experience. The highlight of the evening, however, was the live Frankenstein show. It was a fantastic performance with special effects and the lights. FRANKENSTEIN & BIER KELLER is a must-visit for anyone looking for a night out with a twist. The combination of delicious beers, a lively atmosphere, and a captivating show creates an experience that’s both entertaining and enjoyable. I highly recommend it for an evening where good brews meet great entertainment.

I was really looking forward to this place as a horror fan does, but the execution is inherently flawed. made reservations in anticipation of having a designated spot. didn’t realize it was open seating and we would be going down to the bar from the mezzanine to order, but no biggie i’ve worked in restaurants before. they were out of garlic bread and pizza for the entire day. (it was 6PM on a Sunday.) We’d been looking forward to it for months so we just made do with two sides of fries and a side of wings. we’re hanging out and taking our time since it wasn’t very busy, enjoying the music and our drinks. planned on getting a few more drinks and snacks and watch people do karaoke. it went from rammstein and metallica to cutting it off then changes to pop music like hozier, tame impala, and sabrina carpenter. i enjoy all music as much as anyone, but that got me up and leaving fast. just wasn’t what i was expecting. come for the visual aesthetic, but the service, food, and ambiance leaves a lot to be desired.

Frankenstein Pub in Edinburgh is a unique and atmospheric destination that pays homage to Mary Shelley’s iconic novel. Located in a converted church, the venue boasts stunning Gothic architecture and intricate decor that creates a dramatic ambiance. The interior features various themed areas, including a stunning bar that resembles a laboratory, complete with eerie lighting and vintage scientific equipment. Their menu offers a range of hearty pub food and a solid selection of drinks, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a night out. Live entertainment adds to the experience, with events often hosted in the pub, enhancing its lively atmosphere. Whether you’re a literary enthusiast or simply looking for a distinctive place to unwind. The pub is one of a must-visit in Edinburgh, combining history, creativity, and a fun vibe. Good food, excellent drinks, and great music!

Such a one of a kind experience here. I would recommend for sure. Lots of seating options, and not in everyone's business. Each table / seat gives you the privacy some are looking for on a night out. Once you walk in, you're greeted by a giant Frankenstein, same level entrance is the main bar, lots of on tap items were out which was a bummer, but still had some good ones to offer. Second floor has more seating, a smaller bar section and you can see the main floor. Bottom floor has bathrooms and open area for even nights. Lighting was AMAZING! Kept the theme with the green eary Lighting, music was also keeping the theme. At 6pm they had Frankenstein raise from the dead, he said hello, and then went back to sleep. Definitely worth checking out!

Frankenstein is my all time favourite theme bar with three floors up and a basement. They serve all kinds of alcoholic drinks, a wide range of beers both local Scottish beers and foreign. They have a number delicious cocktails to choose from. They serve food too, lunch and dinner but unfortunately the bar closes quite early. It's the perfect place to go as group or family. They play really good music you can totally dance to. Last but not least are the moments where Frankenstein comes alive... It's fascinating to watch him wake up from the dead. The dramatic sound effects and lights makes the place so alive. I totally recommend Frankenstein to anyone who visits Edinburgh. "It's Alive"!!!!!!!

Good pub with Brief Frankenstein animatronic show every hour. Drinks typical Edinburgh City centre prices. A range of 12 inch pizza and loaded fries available to with a few sides and cheesecake pudding. Tried loaded fries with Nduja and mozzarella which were nice as a snack. Family tried blue and red monster cocktails. Blue was very sweet but my daughter enjoyed. The Frankenstein show is quirky and gets tourists in during the day. Only lasts a few minutes but is quirky. Range of merch available behind the bar. There are bars on 3 floors but only one open during the day. Worth a visit if you are visiting Edinburgh for the day and want a pub that's a bit quirky
