Hodrulis Greek Takeaway — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

My husband and I received a pamphlet through the post for this restaurant and had been craving Greek food for weeks. We decided to wait until they opened to give it a try and we were so happy we did! We ordered home delivery and everything arrived hot and fresh. We tried several different starters, a salad, and the vegetarian moussaka, which we were so glad they offered the option for. Everything was wonderful and so flavorful. They even wrote a kind personalized thank you on one of the takeaway boxes and included a complimentary dessert, which we hope was intentional :) Definitely very authentic Greek food and a place we will order from again! Reducing this to two starts as I recently ordered a main (chicken, chips, bread, onions, tomatoes, tzatziki) but I only received chips and chicken. Was really disappointed.

This was my first souvlaki. I really enjoyed it. The chips were plump and moist, as chips should be. The chicken had a nice crisp skin but was not dry over cooked. I wasn’t a big fan of the bread, but no major complaints.

The chocolate cake was really interesting too. It had this taste to it that felt like it was cooked in a clay oven, I enjoyed it. Only complaint is that it was a bit dry.

Amazing place, definitely recommend it, if you are nearby or having a delivery order. expect a wide range of handmade Greek products, succulent and big portion of gyros wraps and juicy syrupy desserts like galaktobureko even tasty dishes from Greek cuisine like mousaka or beef kokinisto! And how not to mention the mini dips! Tirokafteri and tzatziki perfect for chips!!
