We ordered Joojeh kebab...2 x moist skewers of Marinated chicken. We chose to hve this with salad, but u can choose from chips, rice or naan as accompaniment.
The chicken was tender, moist with a hint of lemon. The chicken was served with a lemony sauce - ours was mildly spicy & tangy. The skewers were served with salad of lettuce, cucumber, carrots, radish, onions, red cabbage.
Our second dish was absolutely delicious!! Quorma-E-Goshta Bara....falling off the bone pieces of tender lamb in a tomato, onion based sauce. We chose to eat the lamb dish with rice. The sauce had the natural sweetness of gently sauteed onions & garlic in a thick tomato sauce. Tender chunks of lamb swimming in this delectable sauce...it was wonderful eaten with persian rice. Comfort food!!
The food at kabul kitchen is well worth checking out. A gem serving hearty, mouth watering, delicious comfort food. Servings are generous & extremely good value. Good to share with a group.
We have 2 more nights in Edinburgh but we will be back to try other dishes before we explore other parts of the UK.

Read moreI visited this restaurant with a friend, hoping to try something different, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown from start to finish.
The cutlery was dirty and clearly not polished, and the plates still had visible food stains – not what you expect when you sit down to eat. The service was equally poor. The staff seemed completely lost and unprepared, with no clear idea of what they were doing.
We ordered a starter that never even made it to our table. After we complained, they offered to bring it with the main dish, which wasn’t any better – cold rice with meat and very small portions. On top of that, we had to remind them about the yogurt we ordered earlier.
The only redeeming gesture was that the waiter, who at least acknowledged the chaos, didn’t charge us for the tea and yogurt as an apology. But even that didn’t make up for the overall experience – especially considering the restaurant had only 3 out of more than 10 tables occupied.
The atmosphere was just as disappointing, with an unprofessional and clearly inexperienced team running the place. Unfortunately, I won’t...

Our visit to Kabul Kitchen in Edinburgh was deeply disappointing. We were a group of 7 and ordered a mixed grill platter (including both chicken and lamb) along with two plates of biryani.
The service was below average, but what truly ruined the experience was the terrible quality of the food. The meat tasted as if it had been stored improperly ، dry, odd-smelling, and suspicious in texture. Five of us ate the lamb and chicken from the grill platter (the other two do not eat meat), and all five of us experienced stomach discomfort and pain throughout the night.
I’m not saying the meat was outright spoiled, but the storage conditions must be seriously lacking. It was alarming, and it completely ruined the rest of our day and overall experience in Edinburgh.
I strongly advise anyone considering this restaurant to think twice. Poor food safety is not something to take lightly and this was, unfortunately, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve...
