I usually go through the drive through at this location but sometimes stop in. I went in when the red light was on about 2 months ago and they are supposed to give you a free original glazed right off the assembly line when the 'hot light' is on.
Well we went in and as we were looking at the assembly line, a distraught young woman asked my partner and I if we were able to come outside and look at her car as she was driving from Dundee to Newcastle and she was worried about her tyre. We went outside for 5 minutes to help her and went back inside to order. As we walked in the red light went off. We ordered a coffee and doughnut and I asked 'oh do you still get a free sample when the red light is on' and the staff member said 'yeah, but only when the light is on', I said 'oh it turned off as we were coming in and we were just in 5 minutes before that but went to help someone with their car', she said 'yeah well the light isn't on anymore sorry', I said 'but you just saw us in here (we were the only ones in the store for 15 mins while this was all happening) when she asked us for help and the light turned off when we came in', she said 'yeah you still get a free sample, but only when the light is on but it's not on anymore, sorry', I said 'surely you can still offer as it just went off as we walked in for the second time?', she said 'nope, sorry it's out of my control'.... as there were still about 100 doughnuts going around the conveyer.
I asked for my receipt so I could fill out a survey and give feedback but she only gave me the card receipt so I was unable to fill in the feedback. Went again a few weeks later to be served by the same girl - come to find out her name is Rachel. Again, asked for a receipt (to fill in my feedback from my previous experience) and she STILL only gave a card receipt... no actual receipt with the code to go onto the feedback website. Was able to go in again and get a receipt of another young gentleman and put in my positive feedback about him and my constructive feedback about Rachel. Rachel needs some additional customer service training as every time I have been in she has horrendous customer service.
I am not mad about the 'free' doughnut, it is the principle of it - she was being nasty and rude for absolutely no reason. I try to avoid her when going in now as my customer experience has never...

Read moreThis place has incompetent staff.. I ordered 2x dozen boxes of donuts.. Not a problem.. Asked for a coffee to take away... 10 minute's and over a dozen plus customers served after me I'm still waiting for my coffee... (not a happy bunny at this point). Bearing in mind there are 5 yes 5 members of staff behind the counter. I try to get the attention of one of the staff.. This is to no avail... I was blatantly getting ignored.... So I raise my voice to make the point politely that I wanted to speak to any of the staff.. At this point I then get attention from a member of staff.. And ask for my coffee as at this point my wife and kids have left and got into the car... I didn't serve you its the person who served you that should get the coffee when it was pointed out to her that she was stood next to the cups and lids and also the coffee machine that all she had to do was put a cup under the nozzle of the machine and press the button... The answer was but I did not serve you... My answer was I don't care who serves me all I want is the coffee that I had paid for 15 minutes earlier... Not much...
