I noticed a new independent coffee shop that was close to McDonald Rd so I thought it looked nice so I decided to give it a go. The staff were both friendly, and the decor is cool, albeit a little dark.
I found the coffee to be quite average, it didn't stand out for me which would make me come again. My mocha had a lot of chocolate powder on top so couldn't taste the coffee. The sandwich wasn't to my liking but I chose it so it's not their fault. Large coffee and a toastie was about £9.80. The one big off- putting thing is how low the tables are in the cafe. There's no way I can sit there without arching my back which makes me uncomfortable, there are higher stool tables but the majority are the low tables. I'm not particularly tall either, 6ft, so someone taller would find it difficult. Wasn't comfortable chilling there.
Not my favourite experience so I'd rather stroll down Leith Walk to find somewhere else more...
Read moreAbsolutely shocking experience. Incredibly rude woman working this morning. After me queuing for 10 minutes, when it was my turn to order I explained I am pregnant and so finding it hard to choose, she said 'you have to leave, we cannot serve you' when I asked 'why?' she said 'because of that dog'. I had my small dog with me. I had been here numerous times with my dog before and she saw my dog the moment I came in, heard the other customers talking about him but let me queue anyway and wait to rudely say this to me. Even after I had said when I was ordering that I am pregnant. She then tells me to 'leave now' and repeats it. It resulted in me missing food before a meeting at work because she completely wasted my time. After I left, I looked back and she was laughing. NEVER go here, I cannot believe you would treat a...
Read moreAs a frequent passer-by, today I decided with some time spare to take a stop at Not Just Coffee, the interior was nicely designed and has a good look to it with the natural brick walls and very clean and high-end-looking equipment. The server was very polite and informative about their bakery items and what allergens each contained. Pictured was a kinder bueno cookie and my standard americano. The coffee was nice and strong, with a nice crema on the top, and was served in some nice branded mug and coaster. The cookie was moist with a little firm crunch to the top, I could tell that it was fresh. Not pictured was the 5 amazing cannoli that I couldn't leave without buying. I will be back highly...
