Today I visited the palace with my mother and my partner. After seeing so much beauty and fine art indoors, we decided to stop for a coffee. Perhaps the cafe is located where they used to treat the horses, because the customer service was terrible. The food I cannot review as the only thing I tasted was lack of manners.
In addition to being treated badly from the first minute, the waitress (Magda) was insisting that we ordered take-away, saying that there were no tables (I had to point out to the waitress that my partner was sitting at the table so that she would consider taking my order). I ordered some sausage and mashed potatoes that were on display. It happens that the food on display in the counter was not for customers. She said I couldn't have it because it was for employees. If it was for staff, why was it on display?
As the only option on the menu that was available in abundance to customers was rudeness, I decided to look for somewhere nicer.
What's the point of setting up a business inside a palace if you don't prepare your staff to treat customers with courtesy? I left without spending a single penny.

A great place for Afternoon Tea, they offer a variety of cold and hot options including traditional Scottish comfort foods, sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
They have a wide selection of teas, coffee and specialty drinks, as well delectable desserts, champagne and cocktails. They even have ice cream for hotter days. The service was quick, efficient and friendly and everything we ordered was delicious. Some stand outs for me: rich and creamy hot chocolate, moist and flaky scones and the decadent sticky toffee pudding.
CafĂ© at the Palace has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with an extended dining area, the terrace in front and the Mews Courtyard out back which offers views of Salisbury Crags and Arthurâs Seat.
The cafĂ© is kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible as everything is located at ground level, seating is flexible, and there is a lot of space to maneuver a wheelchair. The outside terrace is also dog friendly and the perfect place to sit and relax. I recommend checking out this cafĂ© if youâre...
