Food alone this place is 5 stars and one of the best Indians I have ever had but there were a few small service issues we had. The restaurant is well designed and very modern. We were kindly, given a free starter and our waiter explained what it was. However, we did notice that the waiter, that gave the free starter to the table next to us, never explained what it was. It was tasty nonetheless. We asked for water for the table which came in a nice jug. However, inside was mint and cucumber which wasn’t my favourite. I just wanted plain water. The service could be improved if the waiter asks if they would like mint and cucumber in their water. Thankfully the water was still drinkable but I am not sure if I would have been able to drink the water at the table next to us because they had a ton of mint leaves and cucumber in their jug. Surely their should be a standard of how much you put in the jug? Anyway, I loved the menu because you aren’t overwhelmed with choices that you usually are at other Indians. Plus, there are many dishes on the menu that you wouldn’t get anywhere else. For starters we shared sweet chili haggis pakora and lamb chops which were both nice. I like how the haggis was stuffed inside the pepper which was unusual. I asked for a masala chai tea because I absolutely loved the one I got at Dishoom. However, when I got my drink, I tasted it and it didn’t taste anything like I was expecting. My wife thought the same. It tasted like an English breakfast tea with milk. My wife polity addressed this to the waiter and he went and through the back to enquire. He eventually came back and was very apologetic and explained that they gave me the wrong tea and he then swapped it with the correct tea. This one tasted amazing!! Almost on par with Dishoom’s. I also decided to get a mongo lassi which was superb. For mains I got Tandoori Crackling Duck which was outstanding and my wife got chicken korma which she rated very highly. On the side we got garlic naan and boiled rice which were as expected. We don’t usually get desserts at Indian restaurants because we are normally too full but this time we had room. My wife got the Kulfi Mouse and I got the Saffron Honey Baba. Omg both of these were incredible. We loved the presentation of all the meals which added an extra class. The bill was fairly priced. If I am being picky we did notice some inconsistencies with the service. For example some tables had very little time before they were asked if they were ready to place order, whereas ours and other tables had significantly longer. There was also a waiter that was overly loud and friendly that didn’t seem very natural. I could see how that might get on someone’s nerves. However, I do like how they appear to have staff from different nationalities/ethnic groups which is nice to see. I’d love to come back to this restaurant and I’ll recommend to friends and family.

This restaurant was more than a culinary delight .The drinks bursting with flavour. The starters a feast for the eyes and tantalized the taste buds .Each starter a journey into Indian cuisine, a fushion of traditional and a twist of modern .Do not miss out on this experience. Save room for main courses which will take you on an adventure which will be hard to forget .The spice ,the presentation , the aroma of each distinct dish ,wow thinking about it I’m hungry again , buts it’s a long flight from Toronto to Edinburgh . I will definitely return and anyone going to Scotland should make time to Experience this hidden gem !!! Can’t wait to go back !!! Service impeccable and the place was mobbed . Relax enjoy each course at leisure , no need to rush . Everything was freshly prepared and you definitely taste the difference . What a place ,will never forget the meal we had here . Don’t just take my word for it . Go for yourself and see . Highly recommended to all who wish to try an enjoyable experience in a beautiful setting ! Well done Prahna Indian Grill Wish I had taken more pictures Was too busy eating !!

We recently had the pleasure of entrusting Prahna Indian Grill with catering for our daughter's engagement, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Arun, the owner, proved to be an invaluable asset, as he personally attended to every detail, ensuring that our event was nothing short of extraordinary.

Catering for 150 guests can be a daunting task, but Arun and his team handled it with grace and expertise. From menu planning to execution, they were attentive and accommodating, making sure that every guest's dietary preferences were met. With a significant portion of our guests being vegetarian, the variety and quality of options provided were exceptional, earning praise from all who attended.

The food itself was a highlight of the evening, with flavors that tantalized the taste buds and left everyone wanting more. Arun and his talented chefs demonstrated their culinary prowess, crafting dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. It was evident that they put their heart and soul into every dish, ensuring that each bite was a culinary delight.

Beyond the food, Arun's dedication to making our day special was truly commendable. His warmth and attentiveness added a personal touch that made all the difference, leaving a lasting impression on our family and guests.

In conclusion, I cannot speak highly enough of Prahna Indian Grill and the exceptional service provided by Arun and his team. Whether you're planning a small gathering or a large event, you can trust them to deliver an unforgettable culinary experience that will elevate...

We had Purana Restaurant cater for both the pre-wedding Ladies’ Sangeet on the 22nd of September 2024 and our daughter’s wedding on the 23rd, and I am beyond impressed!

First, a huge shout-out to Arun, the owner, who completely smashed it on both days! He and his team took care of every little detail, making sure everything was flawless from start to finish. Arun’s dedication and hands-on approach truly made both events a grand success.

The food across both days was absolutely amazing. From the vibrant and festive Sangeet night to the elegant wedding reception, the chefs at Purana created a menu that left all our guests raving. The dishes were bursting with flavor, and the presentation was top-notch. We received endless compliments from our guests, many saying it was some of the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding!

A massive thanks to all the staff who worked their socks off to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their professionalism, hard work, and friendly service made a huge difference, helping create a relaxed and joyous atmosphere.

If you’re looking for exceptional food and service for any event, I highly recommend Purana Restaurant. They truly exceeded our expectations and made our daughter’s wedding celebrations unforgettable. Thank you, Arun, and your...
