What can I say. I'm from England and when I walked in it was a bit frightening. We had one lad giving it loud mouth playing dominos and some old bloke looking mean and aggressive. But then Karaoke begun I sang one song by a very Famous Scottish band and how welcome I felt. All the people who use that public house are lovely they make you very welcome and I learnt a massive lesson never judge a book by its cover. The bar staff are lovely and great at there job. Some of the reviews on here that slate the place I think that the person's that wrote them left there guide dogs outside. I felt that welcome that I will be going back the next night and I will also come back up to Edinburgh for a weekend to come back just to go to that pub to see the people that go in there. I hired the Function Room at the Centurion for a family birthday party for around 50 guests. The room was spotlessly clean with plenty tables and chairs along with dance floor. The bar staff were very helpful and friendly and the bar itself was stocked with a good range of quality wines at very reasonable prices along with beer and your usual spirits. From the initial booking to the party itself the communication with Pauline, The Manager, was excellent, she was extremely helpful allowing me to drop off decorations and food in the daytime, ensuring the room was set up with a buffet and cake tables and at the end of the evening calling taxis for guests 😊 It was a fantastic evening and the perfect place for smaller more intimate family celebrations. All guests have commented on what a wonderful evening they had so I am sure Pauline and the team will have many bookings...

Lived nearby for years and finally thought that would be fine to enter the bar staff directed me to where my bike would be safe and 1 hour later my bike was stolen and the the bar staff said it was my fault for leaving it and said that they could not show me cctv and then After hours of searching for my bike the bar staff miraculously said that my bike was safe around the back after hours of trying to fi d out where my bike was and after hours of being on the phone to the police and then after a purple hours of looking it, it was then found at the staff smoking area, all this place cares about is money they do not care for there customers or even public safety it is a joke of a place and should not be open as a place...
