Had to drive 30 mins to Corstorphine for a vet visit and decided to pick some dinner up for the family on the way home. We decided to give Shakedown a go after seeing good reviews and holy cow we were not disappointed. We're fans of Five Guys so seeing a place with some similar characteristics in their menu is always a bonus. I'm not a burger snob, I don't mentally track and rate burgers but the 'Beefed Up' burger was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. First bite and the wife and I were making excited faces at each other. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. The pepper levels were higher than I'd normally expect, yet it wouldn't have been as good without it and that flavour lingered after we finished eating which was a little bonus to the experience. Just perfection. Only complaint was that I didn't go for the 'Super Beefed Up', with the extra patty to make it last longer.

Finally, the staff seemed busy, a flurry of activity in the kitchen with in store orders and online orders, but I only had to wait one minute (not that I care about waiting), before being greeted with a smile and a calm demeanour to ensure they got my order right. Food was made super quick and I was out in what felt like less than five minutes (which I didn't expect for burgers like these). Again I was greeted by two different staff members who wanted to ensure I had everything I needed before I left with my food. Amazing experience overall.

Location: A loooong walk from the city center, though worth the trek for the food. Diet options: Limited for those craving healthier choices. +Not your typical "fast food" speed: Be prepared for a short wait (around 10 minutes) for your deliciousness.
