Tiles Bar — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Very Disappointing! Which I never thought I would say as this is one of my favourite Edinburgh bars... we regularly visit when in Edinburgh and I bring friends to the bar too that have never previously been also... we ordered a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Wine... once back at our table I realised we were charged £32, not £26 as per the online drinks menu prices. I asked the colleague who served us for £6 towards our next round of drinks to be told "no, that's an old menu... our prices have went up!"... She then showed me the new menu. I showed her on my phone the click through to the drinks menu from the Tiles website showing the price of £26. She said again that was not the right menu, even though she agreed I had accessed the menu from their website link. I asked for a price match to their online drinks menu to be told no again...!!! this is incredibly poor service as the colleague agreed I had seen the wine online at £26... and if she had taken the approach of thanking me for pointing out the menu prices issue online (to stop this happening again...) and crediting £6 off our next round of drinks this would have been brilliant service and help for their business also... Be interesting to hear if the Tiles Bar Manager would now, on reflection, come back with a response to...

We went for lunch with friends 4 adults and a child Beacuse i have an illness that only allows me to have liquid i thought i could just have the soup but when i was told it was tomato and coriander i couldn't have it as its too rich...when I asked if there were any other soup options she checked with the chief...i sat back down expecting to have a coffee whilst the rest had lunch.... back she came to the table and chief suggested going out to Sainsbury's in this instance to get me soup of my choice so i wouldn't go without lunch... OMG where in this day and age do you get fab-u-lus customer service like this i was blown away by the way they handled this situation. Staff could not do enough although it was getting busy by this time. I have to say a massive thank you... having been in retail for 40 years this absolutly outstanding to experience this standard of service. Highly recomend Tiles to anyone looking for great food at a brilliant price... with such amaizing...
