We went for our first time at Tuk Tuk, before going to see a Bombskare gig (Skalloween), and it was a good experience. We started with the Poppadoms & Chutneys for the table which was nice. We ordered the Shikanji & 2 Diet Cokes for drinks. My wife had the Shikanji, which she enjoyed. I tried it and it's not to my liking. A lemon based drink with sugar, pepper and cumin. We ordered 4 starters, Chicken Lollipops, Bhajis, Bengal Fish Cakes & Chicken 69. We enjoyed all 4 of the starters especially the Chicken Lollipops. For mains we had the Daal Makhini & the Lamb Lasooni with a side of chips and a Garlic Naan Bread and 2 portions of Pilau Rice. My wife really liked the Daal Makhini. I found the Lamb Lasooni to be very salty and while the lamb was lovely and tender the amount of salt stopped me eating it all. The Naan was not great with the garlic. I think the garlic had been burnt as it was bitter. However the naan that had no garlic on it was very nice. The Pilau Rice was really nice. The chips were crispy and were good, but we did not eat them all as we were quite full. The staff were all very friendly and keen to explain how the menu worked and gave a description of the items on the menu if you wanted to know. Overall we were happy with the service, the ambiance of Tuk Tuk and the food. We would go back, but next time I would stick to...

Came across this restaurant, read the google reviews and thought okay 4.7 rating it will good food. I definitely wouldnt rate it a 4.7. The food was less then average, we ordered chicken tikka, chicken 69 and samosa chaat all were bland and need spice adding. The mains came out at the same time, to which the waiter replied oh its a tapas service so will come out whenever, we asked for it to be taken back to sit under the heater. We literally ordered and within 5 minutes the food had arrived, which makes me wonder how long the food was sat there. The chefs were stood around doing nothing when they could have been making fresh food. The mains werent great. We ordered butter chicken, railway lamb and daal makhani all of which we added salt too to add some flavour. We asked for the butter chicken to be made a little more spicer to which the waiter replied we cant as the sauce is done we can only add red chilli flakes to it. The rice wasnt cooked properly the grains were hard. When the waiter came over to ask if the meal was okay. We advised the food needed to salt and he just went away and didnt come back.
Did not enjoy this meal at all! What a...
Read moreIf you're considering dining at this restaurant, I'd like to share some observations that might help you make a more informed decision. Cleanliness, especially in places where we eat, is non-negotiable, and unfortunately, this establishment seems to falter in that aspect.
One particular concern is how the restaurant handles its cutlery. I've noticed that if utensils fall to the floor, they are merely wiped off and returned for use. This practice is concerning and not something I've witnessed in other dining settings, particularly in Indian restaurants where hygiene is paramount.
While the food offered may be appealing, the approach to cleanliness, especially with such basic elements as cutlery, is something to consider seriously. It raises questions about the overall hygiene standards maintained by the establishment.
It's important for restaurants to prioritize the health and safety of their patrons by upholding high hygiene standards. Dining out should be a delightful experience free from worries about cleanliness, as it directly impacts one's health and the overall...
