I went in yesterday and was served by an enthusiastic and happy gentleman. I ordered a pain au chocolat and an espresso. I asked if the espresso was a double shot before ordering and I was told it was. For £2.50 I hoped so. It wasn't - it was a single and arguably the most disappointing espresso I've experienced this year. For being blatantly lied to I should be giving just 1 star. Just for reference btw I used to live in Italy and I know my coffee - there was no crema for a start and the coffee was so bad it was discarded after one sip. Ok. Clearly coffee isn't their forté - surely my pain au chocolat would be all one should expect from a bakery?! No. The pastry was flat and exceptionally greasy. Sadly another £2.50 discarded after one bite. Yes I could have and maybe should have taken it back but I was enroute to the train station and I didn't. Maybe this was a 'bad day'. I agree and I'm almost certain it was. Sadly I'm not prepared to sacrifice another £5 in...
Read moreSuperb little bakery⦠had the BEST croissants and cinnamon rolls here. Coffee good, staff excellent (helped me rescue a bee). Small little place but what a great find. Someone doing it properly and how it should be done. Nicely done guys.
Ps: I read a review saying this place is expensive. Itās not.
This is a bakery doing it properly, small batch, with fine ingredients, taking their time and probably trying to ensure they pay their staff a decent wage, pay the rent etc too.
If you want a cheap mass produced, croissant that is full of flavourings and things that ensure it lasts 4 years whilst bearing no resemblance to an actual croissant; go to a supermarket and feel proud of your £1 saving.
If you want something beautifully crafted with brilliant ingredients that is, in no way comparable, go here.
Canāt believe people would compare the two.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to stop off here on the way to Witney from Cubbington. Absolutely delicious.
I got some pastries for my team on my last day of work and the office were obsessed with them. Honestly get a few for your colleagues and it will go down a storm.
If you like massive and delicious pastries you are in for a treat.
The pain au chocolate resembles what I can only describe as one of Daft Punk's helmets. It's huge!!
The pain au raisen and Cruffins are also terrific. Really tasty and buttery and worth the price.
However I have a special mention for the Cinnamon Buns. These are absolutely superb.
My only gripe, the bags they put the Cinnamon buns in start to disintegrate from the icing, so this encourages me to eat them sooner.
Good coffee and parking available opposite. However bit of a nightmare on market...
