I have to say, really looked forward to this place - a slight let down on a couple of fronts really but food was actually very tasty, seemed well made and very nicely presented for a takeaway. (Too hungry to have taken photos!) The let downs were not major, but something enough to warrant a bit of a moan! First of all, a slight delay on collection - only somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes but having ordered nearly an hour before that was a bit surprised it was delayed - as I say, no great issue. The next one was missing bean sprouts! - in fairness they called realising their mistake and handled it very well, offered a refund (at time of writing not received - no doubt it will turn up). I would perhaps avoid asking for coconut rice, as it's just normal rice, not sure what to say about that to be honest... 🤷♂️ A recommendation for them next time would also be to label the dishes for takeaway food, a lot looked similar and actually got mixed up - again no great issue but worth thinking about. Be warned also that it is mighty expensive - over £80 for 5 people, a couple of which didn't have an accompanying dish like rice with their main. To me that seems extraordinarily pricey for a takeaway and I won't lie, I'm still hungry!! May try again in future, perhaps in the restaurant as I can't comment on that - I hear good...
Read moreHaving read previous reviews we thought this place would be a good place to try. It wasn’t that great.
Firstly - as soon as you get there they introduce the prawn crackers “whilst you wait” like they’re free - they are not. Secondly the speed at which they try and rush you through process is clearly purposeful - literally minutes after ordering it’s there - ironically we waited over half an hour for some iced water which given the type of food on offer should surely be standard and be offered at the start of the meal - having said that they’d probably try and charge you for it.
Now for the food. This is where the stars are gained with 2 out of our 3 meals being very tasty - however they were more like soups with very little substance - the veg curry offering little in the way of veg. The real issue was the crying steak which was pretty much 50% gristle - shocking quality cuts!
Finally the cost - food wise it’s not too bad, not cheap by any stretch but acceptable, however the drinks are a bit of rip off, the tiniest bottles you could ask for at not so tiny prices.
My advice - look elsewhere unless you desperately only want...
Read moreThis review is purely for the Guestroom we stayed in. We did not eat at the restaurant. The room (room 2) was quirky and traditional to the Thai culture I believe. It was very homely and spotless. Our sons had bought it as a gift to us so I can’t comment on the booking process. The room was clean and overlooked the main road which was lovely. Having the fob to get in was brilliant and gave us the freedom to come and go as we pleased when the restaurant was closed. Upon checking in, we were told that the WiFi code would be emailed to us-it wasn’t but I had enough data. We were left with 1 teabag and 3 coffee sachets-no choice of decaf which we both drink. The bed was small, my hubby and I are not! We needed an extra pillow and only discovered them on leaving the room this morning! The shower needs urgent attention. It was either cold or boiling hot and fluctuates frequently. I love a hot shower but it was far too hot for me. My hubby likes a warm shower so settled on a cold one rather than burn himself. Please fix this before someone gets burnt! Lovely place, just not for us for a...
