What an extremely disappointing take away (again), this is the second time I’ve had food from here and both times the food has been very bland and have felt very unwelcome when collecting my food. I had decided to give it a second chance this time as it was one of the advertised places taking part in the Amex shop small offer and upon handing my card over the man looked at it then simply said another card, no sorry we don’t take this or any explanation just gave it back to me. The man who I dealt with, the same both times seemed rude and very abrupt and the food both times almost flavourless something I’ve never experienced before with a curry! Also my Nann bread had the texture of rubber and wasn’t pleasant to eat at all. The bajis tasted as though they’d been sat under hot lights for hours as they were very dry and chewy on the outside and not crispy at all like I’d expect from a baji. This is not somewhere I plan on...
Read moreThis place offers authentic Indian and Bengali cuisine in the middle of English countryside town -- Stow-on-the-wold. Popular among the locals and the tourists, the restaurant is extremely busy even during the week nights. The servers are extremely attentive and give you enough time to enjoy the meal and the pleasure of your company.
We ordered Mackarel fish curry, tomato bhorta, daal, chicken makhni, saag panir, plain rice, and garlic cheese naan. Except for the tomato bhorta, every single item we ordered was exceptionally good. For desserts, we shared a pistachio kulfi which is very similar to a gelato.
We take our Bengali/Indian food very seriously and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality and presentation of the the food along with the hospitality of the servers. I'd highly recommend this place if you're around Cotswold and looking to eat at a great...
Read moreA decent option for stow on the wold but not the best curry we have had by a long shot. I had the chicken tikka jalfrezi and my husband had the chicken tikka from clay oven with dal tadka side dish. The curry sauces were ok but my jalfrezi was swimming in oil for some reason (it didn’t add any flavor so really unnecessary), the major disappointment for us was that the chicken tikka was very dry, sadly it appeared to have been precooked and reheated. The naan, popadoms and jeera rice were good and the drinks were reasonably priced. Overall an average meal but we wouldn’t return in a hurry, it is however the only Indian restaurant option in the area so if you really crave a curry it might hit the spot. No pakora...
