Went here as a group of 7 for my birthday. We chose this place as we haven’t eaten out for a long time and this used to be our favourite place where we would go a several times each month. No longer our favourite place. We wrote down all of our order in categories of mains, sides and drinks and handed it over paid and waited. Our colas were completely flat but we didn’t complain I just ordered a different drink instead. We had wanted a cocktail but were told they didn’t have the right ingredients so we chose another one off the cocktail menu they had on every table and were told cocktails couldn’t be done. They clearly had all the right things behind the bar to make them as a member of the party actually spent several years making cocktails at a bar. Don’t know why they couldn’t be bothered. Our food arrived except one meal was missing and we got told we hadn’t ordered it to which we said it was all written down so if missed the mistake was yours. We waited a while then got told the said meal was not available so another choice had to be made. We were all half way through our meals and so asked if we could have the late meal free as this person would now be eating alone. We were told no. My son asked to speak to the manager and was also told no but they would give one free dessert. The burgers we ordered were inedible with little sauce and one burger hardly cooked the other burnt and seemed warmed up. The steak that was meant to be medium rare was well done. Chicken was a funny grey colour and was rubbery in texture. Husbands egg was crispy with a solid yolk. We didn’t bother to mention anything, not that we were asked as the staff had made it clear they were not there to help or make it a pleasant night. We sat for 40 minutes with dirty plates in front of us. No attempt was given to offer us desserts or at least the free dessert. We got up and left. I will never set foot back in that place again and they probably won’t care that they have lost returning custom from all of us as tbh they didn’t seem to want our money that evening. We would have had desserts, cocktails and numerous drinks orders as some of us didn’t drive in order to have a good night out. Turns out you lost money and I had a rubbish birthday so thankyou. Don’t bother with your standard response coz you had the chance to be pleasant on the evening and you chose not to be. No second chances just because of managements attitude. I would advise people to stay away until they change...

We’ve lived near Mount Pleasant for ages but never really ventured inside—until recently. Now? We’re practically regulars! We’ve never been ones to frequently go to the pub much, but lately, we find ourselves coming here almost every day during the week. We’ve tried other pubs in the Greene King group, but none compare to Mount Pleasant—and it’s right on our doorstep!
From the moment we walked in, Alisha made us feel like part of the family. Whether it’s greeting us warmly when we arrive or chatting as we pass by, her friendly demeanor has truly made this place feel like home. She’s always ready with a recommendation, especially when it comes to their burgers—Fridays are a steal with the 2-for-1 burger deal! The weekly meal options are great too, with a wide selection. We particularly love the classic deal: two meals for £11.99, and we can’t resist grabbing our favourite non-alcoholic Kopparberg strawberry and lime, two for just £6!
Alisha’s service is second to none. She’s always got a smile on her face, cheerful and welcoming, and even remembers our orders from the day before. It’s those little touches that make a difference. The rest of the staff, including the manager, have also gone above and beyond to make sure we feel welcome. They’ve checked in on us regularly, even today when we were seated near a lively birthday group. Honestly, the extra buzz just added to the atmosphere!
What really sets this place apart is the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The food has been great, plenty to choose from, being served within 13 minutes, up to 20 minutes. We always leave our plates empty. 😋
The menu offers great variety, and the service and friendliness of the team are what keep us coming back. Thanks to Mount Pleasant for being our new favorite spot! Special shoutout to Alisha and the entire team (we’ll learn all your names soon!)....
Read moreVisited for the first time on Friday 9th June after booking on line. A lady with a badge advising she was a trainee manager served us and was a bit gruff when she bought our mains over but the food was lovely, so no issue with that. My husband and our friend then went to order coffee and desserts. Our friend's partner said she would prefer cream with her cheesecake, rather than ice cream if possible. My husband came back to our table and said cream was available but it was whipped if that was ok. She said it was, so he returned to his friend waiting at the bar and told this same trainee manager that whipped cream was fine. When the desserts were bought to the table, the cheesecake had ice cream on it. When our friend said it was supposed to be cream, the trainee manager loudly said "no it wasn't, you wanted ice cream!!!" When my hubby chipped in saying he had come back to the table to ask and returned to the bar to say whipped cream was ok, she argued with him as well. Now, how would we know whipped cream was available, if she hadn't told him? She was quite aggressive in her attitude, even though she took the plate away and had it changed to cream. We than sat there for a further 20 mins waiting for the coffees (it wasn't busy) so we had to ask another member of staff for them. The guys were too cross to complain on the day so we just decided to leave after settling the bill, needless to say, without tip, and also decided to not return. That being said, I was not happy at just letting them think all was well so I did try to contact them at the weekend on the online form, to no avail. Such a shame as the food was great but the experience spoiled by...
