PAPP'S CAFE — Restaurant in Coventry

We love trying new cafes, so we were excited to find this one on our route. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll be returning. Not that there was anything wrong with the food, or the staff, it's just that we've had a lot better for the same price. The bacon they used was smoked, had I known I wouldn't have had that breakfast. Also, the egg comes peppered. For me, that's a yum yum, not so for hubby, though. The rest of the food was lovely. The coffee is definitely worth calling in for and the cake choice looks lovely and fresh. I'd recommend it, but would advise you check what food is served and how it is served first. We were here for about 40 mins, and through it all we were tortured with Celine Dion warbling through her songs. This is the second time I have visited this establishment. I have nothing but praise. Warm and welcoming staff, beautifully decorated and clean throughout. Unfortunately I always forget to take pictures of my food but it was delicious. Only humble crispy baked potato with beans and cheese (just like mamma makes) potato scooped out and mashed properly with butter prior to returning to the skin with melted cheese and beans. SCRUMPTIOUS! Even the side salad was amazing with crispy lettuce tomatoes and cucumber no sauce/dressing was necessary. My friend loved her dish too with the homemade bread cream cheese avocado and capers. Well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed. Me and my sister visited this cafe for the first time on Thursday and I can honestly say that this is the best cafe we have ever been to. From the moment we walked in the staff were really friendly and so attentive. The atmosphere was spot on. Lovely and chilled with beautiful decoration and an amazing array of books. I opted for a mojito which was the best mojito I’ve ever had. It was made from scratch and not one of those horrible pre-made ones. For food I opted for a toasted chicken sandwich. Omg it was soooo tasty! Homemade bread with a delicious chicken filling 😋 there were even some crisps on the side of the plate. Perfect! who doesn’t want crisps to go with their sandwich!
