The Nugget — Restaurant in Coventry

I booked here for my partner's birthday there was a large amount of us around 15 adults and 4 children eating so i pre ordered everyone's meal the day before. Our table was booked for 6.30 but our food didn't come till 8.15pm!! We had two people come with us who hadn't pre booked so ordered on the app they had ordered by 6.45 ISH and were told it was a hour wait. Their food came out at 7.15pm a whole hour before our!!! THAT WAS PRE ORDERED!! I kept going up and saying please can you just bring the kids meals out because it's getting late they came out at 8.15pm then adults waited around 10-15 mins after that for ours to start coming out last one coming out around 9 I would say which we were told we would get free! That's all the person in charge said!!! Who was quite frankly rude and couldn't clearly cope with a large group eating!! I went after our meal (which actually was lovely once it arrived) I complained to the lovely man behind the bar which obviously had nothing to do with him as he was working behind the bar for what I could see as most of the night! Came here 4th July to celebrate sons birthday, bad then bad now. My oldest son living in London booked a surprise birthday meal for his dad (nice thought, wrong venue) Waited 1 hour 10 minutes for meals to come out, no boiled rice available for 1 meal and decided to have a tia Maria coffee. First coffee from machine was latte with added whisky and cream, 2nd the same and gave it back to manager and explained tia Maria is a black filter coffee with a measure of tia Maria liquor topped with whipped cream. To save further confusion just had my money returned after 2nd attempt Pitty my son never booked the Brookland nearby, not had any reason to wait long for food, always have full menu in when I have visited and know how to make a tia Maria coffee Left at 10.05pm (table booked for 7pm,on time, no one available on entry to show us to our table) with tables still waiting for meals to come out Last time I waited for meals to come out over an hour was from the clock at courthouse Green which has improved Not hard to see why the Nugget only has a rating of 2 and a half out of 5 on Coventry reviews Sorry to see it has not improved but won't be getting any trade from me or my family...

Third visit and found staff, service to be efficient and friendly despite me not being organized/following process. You can order and pay from your table as well as at the nominated till at the bar. Not like me walked in, knew what I wanted but couldn’t recall name, so then grab a menu and didn’t know table number because hadn’t found one (good job quiet) pointed out area and all sorted. So staff needed to exercise some patience. I was visiting with GGrandchild who had fish n chips followed by pimp my brownie… he loved it and was well full by the end. (Told me he was underweight, don’t k ow how with his appetite 😂). I had pumpkin and spinach burger, comes with chips but I asked for side salad in place of.
