Absolute rubbish service and rude staff

I called in and booked a table for two prior to coming in. I came in and they assisted me to our table. Then they gave us menus and left us alone. They didn’t even bother to ask us about papadoms or any drinks. We were the only customer in the restaurant. Bear in mind, my family owns 3 Indian restaurants so I am very well aware of how it goes in a restaurant business. Later on the old waiter came and asked for drinks and I ordered drinks and asked for some popadoms. So I also ordered a glass of water with no ice but they gave me the water with ice. Upon asking to change it, the waiter took the glass and came back after 10 minutes with the water. We placed our order and were waiting for the food. The starters came and we ordered a portion of chicken pakora which was definitely pre cooked and just microwaved before serving to us. It tasted very soggy. Then after some time, the main course came. I saw the food in front of me and I was awestruck and utterly disappointed. Just look at the attached picture. This is the portion of rice they served me. That was hardly even 3 tablespoons. I ordered railway lamb where they mixed regular lamb with railway lamb pieces. And in the whole portion of curry there was only 4 piece of lamb that even mixed. We ordered two naan bread which was extremely tiny and so hard that it was not even chewable. The most surprising thing is they did not even bother to ask us once about how the food is or is everything okay. I was so disappointed that I did not even bother to call them. I called one of the waiter for the bill who came with the bill and it was £49. A complete waste of my money. Just because we did not buy any alcohol and we are less profitable customers, they were extremely ignorant towards us. The service is extremely poorly and the food is not up to the standards. Wow is all I can say! I live in Handcross and my house is the first house as you enter the village. I've ordered taxi's, alternative take-aways, directed friends and NEVER have they not found my house. Tonight my friend from Australia was over so decided to have a girls night and treat her to a traditional Indian Takeaway. We ordered at 19.25 and was told our dinner would be within an hour based on a £5 delivery fee, which we were happy with. 20.45 came and the incompetent delivery driver was still claiming he couldn't find us. After personally standing on the main road for over 20 minutes (yes we are on a main road) he finally turned up at 21.05! Seriously HANGRY, cold and fed up we told him we are not prepared to pay full price and that the service has been shocking! In fact one member of our party had already left being so hungry! We offered half price based on the time we had waited, stood outside freezing and concerned how our DINNER would no longer be hot and fresh. The driver called the Manager who told him to return the food fully,not to offer a penny discount and leave us all starving!

The thing I am most gutted about is the fact that one of our friends had collected food from their a few weeks prior, which apparently was awful and she got a full refund. She had asked us to avoid Blue India but having always used them I told her it must have been a one off mistake, and she agreed to give them another try.

I will never ever use them Again, and I urge everyone else to take their business elsewhere!

I used to keep returning to this restaurant as their food is amazing, but every time I go there I am reminded of the staff who are quite rude and inconsiderate.

Two instances: Once I went to dine in at about 7 pm and they mentioned they have bookings for the entire evening, so I asked if I could do a take away. They said yes and I was seated in the waiting area. The staff made weird faces as if they are annoyed, when asked for recommendations they gave a very cold response. It took 45 mins for the food to arrive and by this time, I was uncomfortable sitting inside so I just waited outside.

Last week, went again with a bunch of friends to dine in. First they rushed us to order, asking us to order all the items at once as the restaurant will get busy. Then they delayed our starters and brought them with the main course. Later, we were towards the end of our meal but not finished. The staff asked if we were done, on saying no, he turned around and started looking at his watch.

It did not feel nice and I am never going to this...
