Booked yesterday for my sons 16th birthday meal before the cinema, really disappointed with the whole meal. Firstly we arrived on time for our booking at 7.30 and were left standing in the doorway for 10 minutes, there were lots of other people waiting as well who mostly arrived after us. Staff were behind the bar just loading the dishwasher and making drinks, no one came to seat anyone for ages. I've broken my foot so standing in the doorway with no staff acknowledgement for 10 minutes was difficult. Eventually someone came over and seated 3 other groups before us, some didn't have bookings and two of them arrived after we did, then we had to wait for them to clean a table for us despite having booked and been waiting for so long. The service was really slow, and the staff weren't very friendly. We visited for the first time a month ago and the food had been lovely so we decided to go again, we had the same meals as last time and they were nothing like they were a month prior. My husband had a calzone with chicken in it that had turned to mush, last time it had been pan fried and this time seemed boiled until it was just wet and falling apart. I had bruschetta to start which was too tough to eat, so I just ate the tiny bit of salad off the top and left the rock hard bread. I then had the plant based bolognese which was delicious last time, but yesterday was a watery mess. The spaghetti looked bare because the sauce was so thin and watery it had all fallen through to the bottom of the bowl, it didn't taste of much at all and wasn't even hot. My son had a pizza which he thankfully enjoyed because it was his birthday meal. We had booked to give ourselves an hour and a half to eat and get to the film, but after and hour of being there we had only had our starters and had to rush the end of the meal to get to the film on time, so service was incredibly slow. I also had the trebbiano wine which previosuly was so lovely but this time was really hard to drink, I think perhaps I was given the wrong wine because it tasted nothing like the wine I had last time. Really disappointing all around, food, service, wine, atmosphere was all very below par, we won't be trying a third time! I resent paying almost £100 for such a terrible meal...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant aesthetically Olives were gorgeous but small portion for 6 people. Should have suggested 2 portions to us. Garlic bread very nice but slightly undercooked and we weren’t given side plates, she expected 6 people to all eat from 1 plate with a dish clearly meant to be shared. And she nearly put it down right in front of my 1 year old. I had to say is that plate hot?? She replied yes and I had to take it from her and put it down away from him before he burnt himself!! Crab and lobster ravioli was supposed to be generously filled , it wasn’t and it didn’t even taste of crab and lobster and I eat it all the time. And covered in oil for some odd reason. Lasagne had the flavour but was swimming in oil and the kids pizzas was glorified bread which was mainly crust! If it claimed to be a calzone I could have let that slide but was on the menu as pizza No one came and asked how the food was and we had to go find someone to order 2nd round of drinks as no one came to see us once. Has to ask for Parmesan, that should be offered as soon as your meals are served if you claim to be an Italian restaurant! Manager seemed annoyed we complained at first (which again we had to get up and find him to do) but came back and apologised and was helpful after we complained and even agreed that he didnt want the lasagne sent out but chef insisted!! He rightly so gave a discount but honestly it made little difference by then as it was my nieces 10th birthday and we were all disappointed and the ones who did eat their meal ate it out of pure hunger. We Went to creams after to help save the afternoon with a decent pudding We were also the only table there on arrival and only 1 of 3 by the time we left so no excuse for bad food or...
