First impressions make a massive difference when visiting somewhere new. We popped into creams one afternoon with some friends from out of town wanting something cold, we went into creams 4 adults and one 1 year old child. Now we had popped to McDonald's for the sake of little one and grabbed a Happy Meal as there is no way she would eat anything that the restaurant would have to offer. We entered sat down and as there was nothing on the tables, waited for service. We were slowly giving our 1 year old chips from her food to keep her happy while we were to have our food. We were approached by an Employee who; without introduction, abruptly told us we couldn't eat food from outside the restaurant. Now I would normally agree however I tried to reason with them on the terms that this is for our 1 year old and we were here to order food. He abruptly replied "Don't care, that's our policy" before walking away, outside to have a cigarette. Now this made me angry with their tone and upset our child as she was hungry.
Not once when we entered the restaurant were we welcomed, not once we're we offered a menu, not once we're we told where to get a menu from. We were however left sitting at the table with a crying child for the entirety of 10 minutes. At that point we walked out passing the rude Employee who gave us a very lovely and sarcastic "Thank You" before a smirk and a drag on thier cigarette.

Read moreTerrible, terrible, terrible staff. Just one out of 8 will speak and understand English rest of them doesn’t even know the abc of English. They always mess your order no matter how clearly you explain it to them what you actually want, even given them in writing our orders but still wrong. I will be surprised they take 30% of their orders right. Even though if you check your order receipt to make sure that if they got everything written down what you actually want, still when the order will be delivered to your table “LOL” it is a joke. I don’t know how Creams can afford to a franchise with these lot, they seriously need to invest in staffing. When asked for a customer service number they say they don’t have one, you ask for a manager and he/she is never available... the staff member the. gives “across” to one of the group a young 16yr old and feels its ok to wink at her as she leaves. DISGUSTING!!! Will never recommend to anyone to go there as I had been more than 4 times and not a single time they got our order right. In short if the person on the till luckily gets your order write down rightly but you will be let down by the staff who prepares it for you. I didn’t want to use this word but they absolutely got sh* service which really needs to be improved or otherwise they should be closed down by the food...

So this was my first visit back after a good couple of years and first impressions were bad, since there was a roof leak inside the cafe and it was constant.
Anyway, it seems like there is a new team of staff running the cafe now which is great news - they were all very helpful, polite and attentive.
The desserts looked brilliant and tasted great - the waiting time was very reasonable given that they were somewhat busy at the time of my visit.
Sadly, the play area was shut off with no explanation?
All in all, good visit, 3 stars - would’ve been 5 but the leaking roof and closed off play area spoiled the visit.

Thought we'd go for a quick late night dessert - shop states that it closes at 11:00pm.
We got there at 10:40pm and the staff told us it was closed...? There was another 20 mins left before you actually close yet the staff refused to serve us.
We tried to come to a comprise and asked if we could have a take away, but they point blank refused!
What's the point in advertising that you're open until 11:00pm if you're going to close early and refuse to serve customers...!!??
I may as well get in touch with trading standards.
