Although the food was okay, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. We were served by Anwar/Anwan and from the moment we got there we had issue after issue. First of all, our table wasn't even ready although we had booked this week's in advance and was even given a call on the day to confirm. Despite there being plenty of space we were all huddled together with barely any room and was told by one waiter we could add a table if we'd like to. When we asked Anwan, he just shook his head and said no we're fully booked even though there was barely anyone there. He kept circling our table with such attitude whilst we were eating. He mixed up our drink orders and demanded we pay for it even though it wasn't our fault and we had returned the drinks. When paying, he threw the receipt at a member of my family and was treating us as though we were an inconvenience to him. When I was asked to pay the remainder of the bill, I called for my fiancée as he was the one with the payment card and when I did so, Anwan said, 'Hurry up, I have other tables to manage.' He could clearly see my fiancee was busy with my baby and took no longer than a minute to attend. When asked to speak to a manager, he kissed his teeth and mumbled to himself and walked away. I went over to him and repeated to speak to a manager and I ended up speaking with a colleague as no manager was in apparently. The other colleague spoke respectfully but Anwan wouldn't even let me get a word in and was rudely speaking in his language. We didn't even get an apology and was told it was cause he was fasting and that he's new. Whilst I respect this, it's really not my problem and any reason to treat paying customers so poorly. My mother's 60th birthday celebration was ruined by the horrible experience we had to endure by Anwan. It was consistent throughout our meal and I'm still waiting to speak...
Read moreReview of Tasmasha restaurant Crawley , location is very prominent , on the main High Street. The restaurant can be easily be seen as you turn in to High Street from the Boulevard.
As you enter the front door , there is a wow factor with great ambiance and decor that is fit for a 5 star restaurant with warm welcoming host waiting to direct you to the table.
There are two floors to this unique restaurant and upper floor has lounge bar with dancing facilities which is used on weekends.
Once you sit , they very politely ask , would you like to have some drinks , hence quickly bring the drink menu from which we choose the exciting pina colada’s .
This restaurant has some of best non alcoholic drinks and cocktails . General Indian restaurants, are not so good in the non alcoholic drinks and range are very basic to boring but not Tamasha Group . We have been to most of their restaurants and it’s “simply the best”
He then explained the options of either a buffet meal or order from the menu .
We choose Buffett , as you can see the mouth watering hot ample selections of starters to main courses , side dishes , fine nan and amazing plain or pilau rice.
There is a side salad bar with excellent selection of salads and sauces to compliment your meal . And finally there is a wide choice’s of very enjoyable deserts from halwa, gulab jammon, rice pudding , fresh fruits , cheese cake and many more ..
A meal is never complete without a coffee or Indian chai , so for us it was the chai . ( Again many Indian don’t have tea / chai and when asked for one , you might not welcome the response , but not at Tamasha !)
A wonderful meal , considering we drove 3 hours to get there 😄 A well worth the drive !
“Every restaurant has some flaws and in this area , Tamasha failed with one area , which is the toilets don’t flash properly . Needs urgent...
Read moreI went to Tamasha for the first time to try out their Indian Bangladeshi cuisine. The restaurant is on two floors, the ground floor is a banquet buffet style which you pay one price and help yourself to the large selection of dishes which are on offer to you. The first floor is a sit down and order from the menu style which is what my daughter and I opted for. I ordered a chicken biryani which came with the vegetable curry on the side, and a garlic naan bread. My daughter ordered a chicken korma with a plain naan bread. I found the quality of the dishes was very good, though the biryani lacked a little spice heat. The prices for the dishes on the menu were a little on the high side compared to what's on offer at some of the gastro Indian pub's we have in the town. Though I think it might be due to the location being on the main strip of the High Street and the over heads to run a restaurant of this huge size.
What would appeal to the masses is the buffet banquet they provide. I've not come across such a large selection of items and dishes like what's on offer in Tamasha. The other Indian restaurant that I've come across which only has half of what's on offer at Tamasha is Tarana at Turners Hill. The local Indian restaurants will have to lift their game up to seriously compete with this new concept of restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attended to every detail to make your experience an enjoyable one.
4 stars given due to the prices on the menu and the slight lack of heat to the biryani, other than that I would have given it a 5 star rating.
I will be returning to experience the banquet buffet selection in the very near...
