Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about an incident that occurred at the Nando’s restaurant located on the second floor of Gatwick Airport on 30 June, around 2:00 PM. My experience was highly unsatisfactory!!!
Yesterday, around 2:00 PM, while waiting at the entrance of your restaurant, I observed a Caucasian couple ahead of me (I'm an Asian woman) being attended to by a female staff member holding a stack of menus. After their interaction, I approached the same staff member.
Despite standing directly in front of her, the female staff member ignored me for an amount of time, choosing instead to engage in conversation with another female staff member. It was clear that she saw me, yet she made no effort to acknowledge my presence. This lack of professionalism was frustrating and disappointing.
When I finally said “excuse me” and asked about the waiting time for a table for one, the staff member’s response was dismissive and lacked basic courtesy. This experience left me feeling undervalued as a customer and raises concerns about the quality of service at this location.
After I eventually went inside the restaurant, I realized I had not been given a menu. I went back to the entrance and asked the same staff member, “Excuse me, why didn’t you give me a menu?” Her response was confrontational; she claimed that she had asked me already, which I find highly doubtful. I observed her giving menus to other customers in a manner that clearly involved asking and handing them the menus simultaneously. She did not exhibit this behavior towards me.
Feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected, I decided to leave the restaurant without dining there. This incident led me to believe that her behavior may have been racially motivated as I felt distinctly treated differently compared to other customers.
I believe that all customers should be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of their background or circumstances. I urge you to address this issue with your staff to ensure that no other customer has to experience such poor service.
I hope to hear back from you soon regarding this matter and to understand the steps you will take to improve your customer service...

Read moreIf you are lucky as we were two weeks ago you will find hair in your chips. We do the late flight every week. Is better to eat Nandos than other precooked meals one can get at the airport. The problem (hence deciding to eventually write this negative review) is the rude and lazy personnel. They are supposed to close at 9:30pm. Some weeks based on who's on shift at 8pm they stop serving tables. Out of three times getting in once they chase us away with dumb excuses on why at 8:05pm they only serve take away - we don't have enough food and this is why we only serve take away - this is the policy - since November the schedule changed (ignoring the possibility of speaking with clients like us who know that this was happening in September and October as well). They force you to takeaway or to go away. You end up getting in at 8:05pm with the restaurant almost empty unable to sit at a table just because they don't want to get the clients in. Nandos is decaying since 2020. It only is a matter of time until we will stop going to Nandos all together. For now, we will try and stay away from Nandos Gatwick because they are rude and lazy, tables are dirty, they treat customers bad (at least the customers getting in 1h and 30minutes before closing time). They don't deserve customers. Unfortunately too many people don't have a voice to take a stand and demand quality. Unfortunately since Brexit quality of services is decaying every...
