Vanda Restaurant — Restaurant in Crawley

When I went to the airport hotel, I had a choice between 3 restaurants for dinner, and I definitely made the correct decision. Vanda is a super-adequate, authentic Asian restaurant and I am surprised it is a mere 3 and a half out of 5 because the food was absolutely scrumptious.

I ordered the Thai Keep Mao with beef. The waiters said it was spicy. When it came, it was, but definitely adequate. The spice was a sharp hint, but mild. The dish itself was brilliant. The noodles were flat rice noodles which were great. The sauce was brilliant. The beef was beautifully tender.

I had a dessert of mango sorbet, and the sorbet was some of best quality sorbet I have tried in my life. The sorbet came with a piece of strawberry and a leaf of mint.

The food came within a few minutes and the waiters were very friendly. The atmosphere, over all was nice except for on of the background songs; Jingle bell rock. I detest that song. It was unknown to the waiters, so it is not their fault whatsoever.

In conclusion, Vanda is an amazing restaurant, and I will look forward to eating there again in the -hopefully...

Overpriced flavourless chinese food masquerading as Thai dishes. £16 a plate (no rice included) and the bill was loaded with a sneaky large service charge on top of that. Food all came out so quick, they must have already had it stewing away all pre-prepared in a big pot out the back🤮. My pad thai was slimy, my husbands pork dish was chewy with no seasoning. . Dont eat here...Just go in to the terminal instead (2mins walk via a connected level walkway) and eat at one of the tried and tested chain restaurants instead... I cannot believe people give this 5 stars and say the food is good . At best it’s like all you can eat buffet food but the one difference all you can eat buffets has a bigger variety and you get what you pay for. Vanda give you the impression you are in for a treat of a la cart food, firstly you are processed like cattle your food comes to you in 5 mins this is no exaggeration …. So disappointed and then to get changed premium prices just because they can .
