As a regular at Hive in Hemel Hempstead, I can't believe I haven't posted a review yet! This café embodies everything you'd want in your local spot: incredibly friendly and welcoming staff who always greet you with a smile. The coffee here is absolutely delightful, consistently hitting the spot every time.

Even though I don't have a furry friend myself, I adore the fact that Hive is a dog-friendly café. The presence of our four-legged friends adds an extra layer of charm to the already cosy atmosphere.

One of my favourite things about Hive is the abundance of greenery. The numerous plants create such a homely vibe, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Whether you're looking for a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely catch-up with friends, Hive is the place to be. Highly...

Possibly a 3.5* if I could however happy to give 4* regardless as would much rather support a local business than have them replaced bt a chain (and this is much better)! Coffee is OK, good even, but far from amazing. It's great that they use locally roasted beans, but just feels like they haven't quite got their brewing/extraction down. Service was really good and they brought the coffee to our table with a friendly face. There was also a gentlemen in a mobility scooter who came and they brough the coffee out to him as he wasn't able to enter the shop due to a step (I read it's not possible to install a ramp as it's a listed building). The shop itself is lovely with lots of plants about and the lights shines through the window in the afternoon where...

The coffee was great; however, it was a shame I couldn’t go inside because they do not have a wheelchair accessible entrance. There are two steps to get into the café. It still shocks me to see businesses without a portable ramp or step-free access.

The barista was lovely and apologised to my carer about my inability to enter. It is the management’s responsibility to ensure that their business is accessible for all, and that no one is discriminated against based on disabilities.

I hope that the owners/management see my review and take necessary steps to resolve this issue. After that, I will be happy to...

Based on the Americano coffee I got it was was of good quality! You can always tell how good a baristas coffee is by trying a black coffee! Very smooth full bodied roast! Overall better then your chain spots. There was selection of cakes and savoury food available also. Always try supporting local businesses and £3 for the coffee it’s very competitive!

Phelps the Staffie's favourite weekend place where he can regularly meet all his doggy friends, get petted by the customers/owners and if he's lucky, lie in the dog bed and munch his Bonio's from the Cafe's 'Bonio Bar'! (His humans love it too, btw!) Yummy food, decent price, what not to like?
