We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant but sadly we were very disappointed indeed… here’s why:
We got in and were warmly greeted and sat down. We were given menus and asked if we’d like water so we accepted and sat looking at both the wine list and menu… 25 minutes passed and we were asked what drinks we’d like so we ordered a single glass of wine.
Then 20 minutes later we were obviously “remembered” and they asked what we’d like… we were starving by then. Another 15 minutes passed and our starter arrived, two small pitta breads and three small plates of dips, which we devoured with our hunger.
Then our plates were cleared 10 minutes after finishing them, we then waited another 20 minutes before our mains arrived.
We were absolutely taken aback as on the menu the description was “larger plates” so we assumed that that would be a main meal.
How wrong we were, the picture shows the size of the food on the “large plates” pitiful was a fitting description. I had fancied trying the cauliflower which very small too!
To cap it all off, my steak was not only unaccompanied on that plate it was STONE COLD! I asked the waiter to sort it out and it was obviously thrown into a microwave as it returned quite soggy!
Give credit where credit is due the taste was very good but it didn’t make up for severe lack of content. The menu even told us that they’d help if we chose too much or too little, but calling it “large plates” os wrong, unless they’re referencing the china ware… I was expecting some accompaniment to a slab of steak, the waiter wasn’t helpful at all.
Anyway by this time this was eaten we were done, no thanks to dessert and just the bill please?
And that’s when the final coffin nail was driven firmly home in this grossly pretentious restaurant.
One ordinary glass of wine, Two little pitta breads and some dips, two plates of very little food and some cauliflower…. Just over £80
I then asked who appeared to be the manager, to remove the imposed service charge and was asked quite impolitely “can I ask why?” When I told him the whole sorry saga he just said OK, I’m sorry you’ve had this experience” and took just the service charge off the bill… no let me sort something out, no have the drink on us, he then didn’t even look up as we left…!
I found the whole experience very frustrating as all I wanted was a great meal...

The food is of great quality with a diverse, well cooked, well presented, allergen friendly list of ingredients in tasty packed dishes all sticking to simple roots with fusion in tow.
The Aubergine Kumpir and the dips are complete stars of the menu, deep, intense and full of flavour - delivering an umami rich take on the classics. Fresh pita, high quality ingredients and great balance is easily achieved and refreshing. The GM knows his stuff, good with reccos and clearly knows the menu for advice, super friendly and welcoming.
My only remark for improvement is the FOH was a smidge disorganised, couple nervous waiters and one of the drinks orders forgotten but are all likely linked to experience more so than negligence.
Cocktails also sublime, smooth, well mixed and tasty. Great value for money in my opinion.
7/8 high quality dishes, cocktails, wine carafe under 160. Very respectable .
You should ABSOLUTELY visit and enjoy the food, ambience and great combos this restaurant has to offer.

Read moreBooked a table for 3 for a birthday dinner. Great atmosphere and such a posh vibe. Birthday girl got offered a free birthday prosecco. Then we sit down and start chatting and the waiters couldn't stop reminding us to order our food and that we have to leave the table on time. The waiter comes over to interrupt our catch up to tak to us for 10 straight minutes about how the special fish dish of the day reminds her of her grandfather's cooking. We order meat. Portions are stupidly small: my grilled chicken dish is £16 and it is made up of simply 4 pieces of chicken wings and N O T H I N G else. I am speechless, I have never seen a poor Turkish kitchen like this before, and I am Italian. Food for us is meaningful, while their food is just very pretensious and very poor. We get asked by the waiter, with so much class, if we want to pay the service charge, like if the bill of almost £200 isn't enough for what we ate and drank ( 2 very tiny starters, 3 mains that were basically the size of a starter and 8 small drinks ). Came back home tipsy and...
