Severely understaffed. We ordered drinks via the app and waited an hour for them to arrive. Ordered food after ordering drinks. According to the menu, three of our meals came with free drinks but on the app there is no option to add a drink when ordering the qualifying meals. There is a generic add drinks option which lists the normal drinks menu with price for each. There were no staff around to ask so we therefore didnt order the free drinks with the food order. And, at this stage our original drinks order hadn't arrived. When our food finally arrived we queried how we could get our free drinks. The girl explained the app is not very clear on how to do this. Turns out 1. you just have to know whether or not your meal qualifies from the paper menu 2. Then you add the drinks as normal in the app, this adds the standard drink charge to your order 3. At checkout the drinks you've added are credited off. We requested that given the app is so unclear could she please organise our free drinks or offset the drinks we'd ordered initially. The answer was no as they were separate orders and we hadn't ordered them through the app when placing the food order. A second staff member was called who said the same as the first; that the app was unclear, but we couldn't have the drinks. We then asked to speak to the manager who did provide the drinks. From this experience I'd recommend 1. the app is improved to add the free drink and inform of current wait times 2. more staff put on (it was opening night) 3. In the event of really long wait times have the bouncer inform patrons of same on entry 4. We walked in, through and out without trying anything because, although it was only moderately busy, there wasn't a single table that we could sit at. Those that weren't occupied were overflowing with dirty plates glasses etc. and definitely not clean. Obviously other customers had cleared stuff from tables so they could sit down. I haven't ever seen anything quite this extreme.
There was one 'empty' table which we attempted to use but when I sat down I put my hand on the table, it was sticky, clearly not cleaned. So we left.
Never mind Covid compliance I would be very surprised if this pub complies with even basic hygiene standards.
