I was very satisfied with the brilliant food and service Zaza provided for me and my husband on our 1 year anniversary. I contacted the restuarant earlier as it was a suprise for my husband, the man over the phone said he will sort everything out for us, which was done.

From the moment we walked into the restuarant they had hand sanitizers and kindly asked us to put our masks on. Each waiter had a face shield on. We had a very friendly and helpful female waiter who helped us with everything we needed and provided us with EXCELLENT customer service. The male waiter gave us 2 complementry drinks for our anniversary which was a shocking suprise.

For starters my husband ordered the PatƩ di Fegato and I ordered the Calamari Fritti. They both were fresh and delicious, bursting with flavour. The Calamari Fritti was very crispy as promised and wasn't oily at all.

For dinner I ordered the Branzino, the fish was fresh and beautifully cooked and the mash and cream sauce was seasoned and tasty. My husband ordered the Slow Roasted Lamb Shank this fell off the bone so easily and melted in his mouth.

After that satisfying meal we ended our Anniversary dinner with dessert. I ordered the Strawberry, Vanilla & Mascarpone Cheesecake and my husband ordered the Lemon Tart which were nice. Every meal came on time and nice and hot.

We thought we had finished with our dinner, but Zaza staff weren't done with us. One last lovely suprise was 2 complementary shots with happy anniversary writtin on the plates they came with. I felt the staff didn't only do their jobs, but really made an effort to make our evening special by bending over backwards. Thank you for your great customer service and...

I visited this restaurant with three guests, and the experience was absolutely awful. As a regular customer, I was shocked—this was by far the worst visit I’ve had, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation but were turned away and asked to come back later. As a result, we had to move the car, since the 2-hour free parking wouldn’t have covered the extra time. We ended up having to pay for parking because of this.

The setup of the restaurant is also quite strange. While waiting for your table, you’re left standing awkwardly in the middle of the dining area, watching other guests eat—not exactly a comfortable or welcoming experience

We ordered the cheesy garlic flatbread as a starter and waited 45 minutes for it to arrive. When it finally did, it was the wrong item. We sent it back with no apology from the staff, and oddly enough, the correct dish was brought out almost immediately after—which makes the long wait even more frustrating.

While our mains arrived without issue, the manager’s attitude throughout our visit was nothing short of appalling. We raised our concerns several times, especially given we were there for over two hours despite only ordering small starter-sized dishes. The only ā€œsolutionā€ offered was the removal of the service charge—which was optional anyway. Frankly, that response felt like an INSULT!

Food is always great - but shocked on...

This restaurant is a good sized establishment - cosy setting, lovely decor and friendly, attentive staff. Prices are reasonable - judged by the fact a starter and a main can be done on average between Ā£20 - Ā£25. We had a cocktail, two beers, two starters, a side and two mains for Ā£36 per head which isn’t bad for a meal at all these days. Portions are generous and of course, being pasta, it was filling. A fresh bruschetta consisting of heritage cherry tomatoes was a great light start. It could have done with a tad more seasoning but it was devoured! The mezzaluna croccante, parcels filled with melted cheese, were bland and definitely needed the accompanying dip. I’m not sure if mozzarella packs the flavourful punch that dish was looking for. Mains were a really pleasing affair - goats cheese with peas, courgettes and fettuccine pasta was delightfully cheesy and filling. Stuffed conchiglia shells were tasty - chicken, pesto, pine nuts in a creamy sauce. For a well priced meal in a nice atmosphere, this is a great...

I booked ZaZa in Berkhamsted online for my Wedding Anniversary. The process was effortless with confirmation sent immediately and I received an easy to follow confirmation link the day before, making Covid compliance simple. Upon arrival the staff were all wearing PPE, while maintaining a professional appearance. Our waiter was attentive, however, allowed space for us to enjoy each others company. The menu had a variety of choice, with additional dishes available via Qr code. The food was delicious, I can heartily recommend the goats cheese and beetroot tart, it was sublime! All in all there is a lot of choice for Italian food in Berkhamsted, however the decor and experience at ZaZa makes it a must visit if you want a great night. I would recommend the Rex cinema along with the Gatsby to follow your meal.

Visited yesterday with a friend and had a beautiful meal and experience. We shared the Pesto and tomato flatbread, which was definitely enough for 2 to share. I had Amatriciana which was delicious, fresh and reminded me of the exact dish I'd had in Rome earlier this year. We finished with a beautiful chocolate layered dessert which I'd highly recommend. The setting was gorgeous and the staff were very friendly. We shared a starter and dessert, had a main each and a gin and lemonade each and the bill was just £70. Bargain!
