I love french cuisine. I've been to France many times. Cote Brasserie is french inspired and has a great menu. Especially good for my daughter who eats gluten free. Few places have such a wide choice for her. We visited last Friday to the Bluewater restaurant. It's a little bit classy but not stuffy. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as are the staff. The tables are spaced to give a little privacy. Always super clean and tidy. The food is amazing we had three courses. My daughter started with calamari crispy fresh and tender. I love the chicken liver pate, chutney on warm toast. We moved on with me enjoying Breton chicken with sauce a little salad and chips. You can really taste the difference. My daughter tried the pork belly and was very impressed. And the naughty deserts she had a beautiful chocolate pud with ice cream. I went for the cheese plate 3 different with warm bread finished an amazing meal. The crisp white wine was a great choice and chilled at the side of the table. Now the service was attentive never rushed. The best part for me is that like France you NOT sat fed and pushed out for another sitting. We talked enjoyed the food and wine and the time flew past after two and a half hours we paid our bill. It's a real dining experience. I have nothing problem with the pizza or chicken and chips type restaurants. And I do use and enjoy them. But for a treat or something special Cote will not disappoint. I always feel my custom is valued and I'm made to feel special. The restaurant is enjoyed by all ages. It's a little France...
Read moreFirst, I must commend your front-of-house staff - they were genuinely kind and lovely throughout our visit. When we expressed our concerns, they listened attentively and showed real understanding of our frustration.
Unfortunately, our dining experience fell short of expectations, particularly with the kitchen's performance. Despite ordering onion soups, bread, steak frites, seafood linguine, and children's pasta with mashed potato, we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive.
I do feel that by letting us know there will be some delays and maybe offering us more bread or something in between could have eased the entire experience.- COMMUNICATION.
When our meals finally came, several issues arose: our steaks, requested rare to medium-rare, arrived medium-well to well-done. The children's pasta and mashed potato were quite plain, lacking flavor. The seafood linguine was decent but didn't make up for the other disappointments. The overall experience was so unsatisfactory that we ended up visiting Burger King afterward to properly satisfy our hunger.
I want to emphasize that we're not frequent complainers, nor do we dine at upscale establishments regularly. We only spoke up because the kitchen's performance that evening was genuinely problematic.
We appreciated that management took responsibility by reducing our bill by approximately 40%, which demonstrated good customer...
Read moreToday, I visited Cote Blue Water at 4:45 approx and ordered a steak for myself and my wife. We waited nearly an hour for our steaks, well before dinner time.
To our disappointment, the steaks were served lukewarm and unappetizing. They were only two medium-rare steaks, with just two leaves of parsley and a white empty plate. Zero presentation.
When I cut into the steak, I discovered that it was cooked rare, despite being ordered medium-rare. I called the waiter and requested a return of the steak, but he refused to apologize. By that time, my wife had finished her steak, and I was left waiting for another steak.
It took another 15 minutes for them to cook another single steak. It was absurdly slow, and I couldn’t understand why it took so long. Frustrated and confused, I asked for the bill and requested that they take the second replacement steak back too since I lost my appetite.
To our astonishment, they charged me the full service charge!
This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The management was incompetent, the chefs were terrible, and they didn’t offer any apology or compensation. I left the restaurant hungry and disappointed, only to have chips for dinner.
I will never be returning to Cote Blue Water. Avoid this place at all costs.
By the way, my bill was £57.00 for my wife’s steak and 2 meals for my kids. I ate nothing, what a...
