Cocoba Chocolate — Restaurant in Dartford

Visited Cocoba at Bluewater and was served by Luis. Although it is not a legal requirement anymore (for Covid) I was disappointed to see him not wearing a face mask. His colleague was so there's inconsistency here. Why have one colleague wearing a mask and not the other. I was wearing a face mask and so were other customers when at the till. The other restaurants at Bluewater do have their staffing wearing face masks at all times. Why should cocoba be an exception. Luis had facial hair so the importance of hygiene cannot be stressed enough. How can we be sure some of his beard hairs don't end up in the tea or food? or perhaps he touches his beard and then uses the same hand to put the free of charge truffles into a small container for the customer. The floor of this cafe is dirty with crumbs under the table. See photo! It really is disgusting. Luis did clear away some plates from a table but did not disinfect the surface or wipe it down. It's a small unit but the quality of food is descent as is the variety, offering sandwiches, toasted or not. Panninis and banquettes. Plenty of sweet offerings, cakes and other things. The coffee is fine along with other choices including hot chocolate. They sell their own bags of chocolate, as the name suggests full of real cocoa and it is lovely albeit rich. Not the cheapest place to eat but not the dearest either. The staff are friendly and we find we can get a table at lunchtime. Wow this place needs more space, its the only reason I could find to loose a star. Very reasonable priced for delicious food, chocolate dipped pretzels are my fav but a country mile and the wife is working her way through the cakes with my boy. I love the way the cakes get warmed up, coffee comes super fresh and little treat on the side to help it go down. Staff are so nice and friendly when they are serving and also cleaning tables, they always make an extra effort to say hello to my 4 year old which makes him feel like a big boy!
