Had been going to the indian restaurant for years for sit downs / takeaways when it was ‘Raj’. When it re opened as ‘Moja’ I still classed as one the best indian restaurants around. The food has always been good but was left feeling shocked and disappointed when on one occasion me and my partner dined in and shared a starter, curry, rice, and Naan bread plus pops and pickles only to be told that it wasn’t viable for them as a business to share a curry and next time we’d have to order one each - despite the fact we’d been returning customers for years. The one and only reason we shared was because we both have small appetites and cannot manage one each! His actual words were ‘you can order to share this one time but it’s not erm, not erm’ I knew what he was getting out so I helped him out by calling his bluff and finishing his sentence ‘viable?’ Yes, yes he agreed. We shrugged it off and hadn’t returned for a couple of years. When we returned for a takeaway, the curry order was completely wrong - having called them and being offered a free curry on return as we didn’t eat the curry, we thought that would suffice. A week ago on my return home from work I called the ‘Moja’ restaurant to place another takeaway order only ten minutes later to my horror and ironic sheer bad luck, my car had broken down. I phoned the restaurant to inform them of this and I was told they had already started making the order and they would have to save it for me. I explained I may not be back for 3 hours at least and that I wouldn’t be able to collect it as it would be too late but he was very very rude and quite aggressive and explained they usually bill people for cancellations ? He ended the call by abruptly putting the phone down. Needless to say I shall not be returning to Moja. If you want the best tasting curry around with impeccable customer service I recommend ‘The Praan’ in Belper. I’m not usually one to leave such an i depth review however thought I’d share because if you want to play roulette on customer service with a chance of encountering one very arrogant younger waiter speaking to you like S**T then ‘Moja’ is the place for you. Such a shame to be let down by the very rude service as it’s such an established restaurant...
Read moreAwful.Really wouldn’t recommend. My friends ordered from here and were horrified. They were absolutely starving after having to wait over a solid hour for food to be delivered. An hour isn’t terrible however we’d have at least expected decent food for it. 3 hairs found in the curry’s. 2 in a lamb curry and 1 in a Chicken Korma. The chicken was horrendous. The majority of the chicken was undercooked and purple. It was literally inedible. I’ll be surprised if my friends don’t get ill. Then when we complained the customer service was horrendous. The gentleman that answered the phone was so rude. He was no help. Started out by just repeating what we’d said, then continued to deny what we’d said. He then ended the phone with “I don’t care, don’t order here again.” This really wasn’t necessary as we’d spoken so kindly to him. Won’t be ordering here ever again. Would not...
Read moreAwful. Member of staff so rude. Asked for an Indian beer was given one without being told it was non alcoholic which tasted and smelt awful. When I complained I was told I had been to the restaurant before so I should have known they didn’t serve alcohol. I had not asked for alcohol when I had previously visited the restaurant so was completely unaware of the situation. I was still made to pay for a drink that I couldn’t drink. Would never return due to extreme rudeness, their staff member had to have the last word on the matter. He was ranting on and on in a very unprofessional manner. On a previous visit we left money on the table for the bill and tip before a staff member came running after us for money without even checking our table in an insulting fashion, after this we were uncertain we would ever return - it was clearly a mistake...
