We came as a group of 8..Arrived & Restaurant empty save for 2 people. Our Table right by the entrance doors and looked shoved in a corner. We queried position and advised only table for 8? Looking around 2 x 4 seat tables with more room, comfier chairs could have been pushed together . We would have had more room around one side of table especially as 2 of us had walking aids . We also would have felt more part of the Restaurant instead of baby stuck in the corner , party!
We ordered our food. Three of us had the Steak & Ale pie. These were absolutely gorgeous. Great crust on top, golden & melt in mouth Beef. The 2 steaks equally good. Ribs huge and delicious. The Two Chicken dishes enjoyed too. 2 had Puddings, Creme Brulee which was nice just lacked that golden crust to crack open
The Wine only came in 125ml & 250ml? Surely as a large glass needed for 250ml a 175 ml could of been on menu..If a driver stuck with a 250 to big or a 125 only. Bizarre. We were advised no semi skimmed milk left only full fat or Almond re Coffee/Tea We had made our booking 3 weeks ago and had paid £5 deposit too. So staff knew we were attending.
We would go back for food but would limit our size of party ( disappointingly) so we could be sat in the more ambient part of the Restaurant.
Think as it was a pub before & now striving to be a Restaurant, A new name might stop people thinking just a pub with food. Its delicious high quality food so should be recognised as a...
Read moreHave had some lovely meals at the Bell in Kingswinford, up until now, but today it was the total opposite. We booked for 1pm for a table of 14 for our groups annual get together. The meals were preordered a week beforehand. Time went on and eventually just before two some of the plates with meat and yorkies were put on table. Those who had chosen pork were served well after the others, he said we had given him the wrong orders and he'd thrown 2 turkey meals in the bin. He wasn't interested in our list.which was correct and what had been ordered. The vegetables were eventually put on the table and quite a time after the roast potatoes eventually arrived although hard as bullets by which time most had finished eating. We asked to see the Manager who was also the owner. We quietly said that we were not happy the way everything came out at different times and these were too far apart.Although we quietly told him we were not happy he was very rude to us and couldn't have cared less about the problems we'd had. He then said ill knock £5 pp off but I don't want you in here again and I'm going to take photos of you all and I want you off the premises immediately! What an attitude there's 14 of us who will never go near the...
Read moreI visited the bell on sat 23rd november and I'm very happy I have done so,the food represents great value for money (I had the two course lunch menu) but much better than that was the quality of the food , I soon realised thst the food here was been prepared by real professional chefs and that they had been Highly trained this turned out to be the case as the chef I spoke to had been trained at the savoy in london !!! What more can we ask for ? Well I'll tell you,the place was immaculate and clean including the toilets, the staff are very professional and polite well dressed and very very helpful. I was lucky enough to chat to the chef who explained to me how much time he spent getting each dish to perfection and the trouble he went to sourcing local quality produce.this is a place I will return to many times in the future and I can highly recommend this establishment .kingswinford you are so lucky please support this establishment you really won't be...
