Our usual early Friday night out but time was against us so we thought of this unpretentious little place as it's only a couple of minutes from the house. It is also unlicensed which is always a bonus. Unfortunately, we decided to skip our shared sheekh kebab and went from poppadoms into mains. The chutney tray was excellent but the poppadoms were not the crispiest (if there is such a word) that we've ever had. The mains were mixed, my Jalfrezi was very good, but the wife was less keen on her balti. The sides of garlic & coriander naan and chips were perfect. The service was very friendly and attentive without being instrusive. The bill was extremely competitive, indeed it told me that that we don't need to order so much in the future. The tables are quite close, and unfortunately we sat next to a family with young feral children which put a bit of a damper on the atmosphere. However, looking around you could see it was very popular with the locals and I notice it's typically very busy when I'm occasionally passing by. Toilets are up a narrow steep staircase which some people may have difficulty in negotiating. There is parking across the road by the community centre but not sure if they ever...
Read moreOur overall experience was good today. The prices were very reasonable for the food we had today. The quality was generally good although some of the meats such as the shish kebab was a little chewy. Portion sizing was fine. In terms of spice, there was not much to it so if you want it spicy ask for it to be extra hot. The inside of the restaurant was clean and tidy. Service time was about average with around 20 minutes wait between courses. Something to note is that the toilets are up very steep stairs and also low ceilings. They are clean and functional but something to consider for anyone with accessibility issues. The location let's you bring your own alcohol as they are not licensed and soft drinks are the usual price (pint of Diet Coke is £2.95). They do not offer much of a dessert option other than coffees. The interior is nicely designed and it is not too large inside with around 12 tables inside. Staff were friendly and attentive in their manner. We enjoyed the experience and we would visit again. It did not exceed our expectations as such and is pretty much a typical local curry house. Note that there is nowhere to park around here so you will need to use a...
Read moreOur family have loved Zingaz for years eat in and takeaway. The food is lovely and the staff friendly. Or so we thought... We ordered a rare treat takeaway via curries online today and paid upfront by card. When the food arrived there was a item missing. My husband called and was told it would be an hour before the missing item could be delivered... An hour?!! Clearly they could not be bothered. No offer of refund was made my husband was just told to mention it next we ordered and they would 'sort it out' not much good when obviously we won't be ordering from there again . I am really disappointed we have been really good customers over the years and have always really recommended them to other people and I just feel let down and a bit cheated...
